We recently stayed at this hotel for two nights in a room on the top floor. While the room itself was nice, the overall experience left much to be desired. The Good: The location is excellent, and the facilities provided by the hotel are top-notch. Additionally, the breakfast was a standout highlight – delicious and well-prepared, easily one of the best parts of the stay. The Not Good: Despite these positive aspects, several issues detracted from our experience. The building's finishing, particularly at the stairs (top floor), is in need of attention; a simple lick of stain would go a long way in improving the overall ambiance. More concerning, however, was the noise issue. For both nights of our stay, we were kept awake by extremely loud music lasting until 4 a.m. – not just ambient noise, but full-blown music (including a DJ performance that was completely singable). This was deeply frustrating and unacceptable, especially for a hotel charging 400 euros per night. We reached out to the hotel via email during the night but received no assistance at the time. It wasn’t until checkout that we were offered compensation – 50 euros to cover parking costs. While this gesture was appreciated, it felt inadequate given the disruption to our stay. The Verdict: This hotel has the potential to deliver a fantastic experience, but it falls short due to poor soundproofing, inadequate customer service, and its inability to handle guest concerns effectively. At this price point, one would expect a much higher standard. For those considering a stay, you might find better value and a more restful experience at a property like Van Der Valk.

Very unfortunate experience at Maison Haas, the standard room was just aceptable but the service from the reception staff was rude and not polite at all. Particularly the person in charge, Danielle, was not friendly and very unhelpful, she was only interested in booking an extra service. When we asked if it was possible to visit the PSA she said "not possible" and did not offer any alternative. The room was ready when we arrived but due to the "rules" we could not get in (it was 1:45 pm and the rules indicated as of 3 pm), we had to get changed in a tiny toilet with no option to access to the SPA changing rooms or another ready room. When we asked about directions and Maastricht highlights, she referred us to a website, w/o even looking at us in the eye. Her colleague, Rertu, was polite and helpful but all in all we had a dreadful experience, no customer friendly. After check out we left the luggage at reception, they do not even have a locked room for that .... we were directed "to take the luggage ourselves and put it in the dining room area" as the reception closed at 6 pm. Location was good but I do not recommend this hotel unless you want to be treated badly.

This really is a fantastic Hotel! Rooms are modern and tasteful, generous in size and well furnished. The overall Hotel is a blend of modern and original features. Breakfast was great, lots of choice and good service. Location is perfect, central with a car park over the road. I stay in hotels a lot on business and would come back here for sure!

The most beautiful place to stay in Maastricht! I went for a conference. It was in the centre of the city, very local, nice rooms and friendly staff! The spa was wonderful, too! I would get back to the hotel when in Maastricht. Highly recommended.

We stayed two nights in the superior suite. "Suite" it is, "superior" maybe not. The room is spacious but a bit dark and the fancy sofas are stained. The main issue was the noise. The room is located on ground floor next to the entrance door (heavy and loud), so expect to hear everyone getting in and out the hotel or the spa. The hotel restaurant (also on ground floor) was hosting events in the evening, so there was a lot of traffic and people chatting outside the room on both nights. The restrooms seem to be badly marked, so the restaurant guests were trying to enter our room thinking it could be the toilet. The room has two doors, each guest trying to open both this became rapidly annoying. One guest even made it inside as we had forgotten to lock the door, we had to throw her out "politely". We also faced issues with the sink which were only resolved after 48h at check-out, so we had to brush teeth or wash hands in the shower for the whole stay. Overall nothing dramatic, but not quite what one would expect from a luxurious spa hotel and a room of that price. As a compensation the hotel offered us the... parking (cheapest item on the bill, less than 5% of the stay). We have seen hotels being more generous in their refund for less disturbance than that. In summary: not "bad", but certainly overpriced.

Reception was friendly and helpful, not present after 18:00 though. Room we had was spacious and warm. Very good shower, separate toilet. Work desk was very small, while there was enough space for a bigger desk. Also no rack to unpack your suitcase, you have to use the bed. Also for that there is enough empty space to put something. We took breakfast in the vicinity, as usual there are lots of choices of specialised breakfast places (cheaper and more charming than a hotel breakfast). Location is everything, and this hotel is perfectly located, you can reach everything easily on foot. Prices can be high during the weekend and events. Parking space opposite to the hotel (35 euro per day), hotel offers parking but although reserved it was full when we arrived. Overall very nice, rather expensive, boutique hotel.

As in many European cities this hotel is the result of a conversion of old buildings with some additions. This makes the whole atmosphere very cozy and charming and in touch with what you would expect when visiting Maastricht. The location is perfect facing de Virjthof square, with a municipal parking garage just crossing the street and in the middle of everything worth visiting in the city. Lot of restaurants just around the corners. We had a superior suite, generous in size, with a bathroom with an unusual layout due to the bedroom being in what I guess was a former dining room. The shower cabin was very nice and everything worked well. AC with 2 equipments in bedroom and living room worked well as did internet. Breakfast was exceptionally good. Served not in a buffet style because the hotel is very small, but with high quality ingredientes and everything you might desire. The guy running the breakfast was very kind and efficient. Check out was done quickly and with no problems. Check in could have been more explicit regarding information about certain limitations of the hotel having nobody in reception after 18:00. Concierge service is non existent. The Spa is in the modern add on building. Tasteful, modern, with a plunge pool and saunas, it makes a good impression. At night the breakfast room is used as a restaurant with a charming patio. Conclusion : a charming European boutique hotel with modern amenities, modern decor, housed in old preserved buildings, with a nice spa, limited reception service and very good breakfast.

Stunning hotel! We sadly stayed just one night at this beautiful hotel. The rooms are so pretty, we had one that looked out on to the square. It had a large bathroom with a lovely bath (with complimentary bath salts). The room was spacious and well designed. We also made use of the spa facilities including an amazing massage from Diana - the best I’ve every had! It felt holistic (included some breathing exercises). Could not recommend this hotel enough: perfect location, lovely staff and a breakfast for champions!

We stayed at Maison Haas Hustinx on a recent trip to Maastricht. It was our first visit to the Netherlands; we were there in October. The hotel is off the beaten path, yet right in the middle of the church square; pedestrian traffic only, so the area was very quiet. Laila, the woman we checked in with, was so great. She helped us find the hotel while driving, and helped me get my luggage into the elevator once checked in. But the most amazing thing was that she upgraded our room to a private apartment on the second floor that was easily 1500 square feet in size. This will certainly be the greatest upgrade of our life. The apartment was two bedroom with three separate bathrooms- one with a luxury bathtub, one with shower and one with toilet. It had a kitchen/dining room, a small private courtyard and an enormous living room/lounge with fireplace and Eames chair! The view from the living room/lounge looked out over the courtyard and church. I realize this upgrade was not the norm, but the fact that she did this, simply because it was available on the night we stayed was so kind and unexpected. The hotel is definitely worth a stay, because it is lovely.

As it looked well located. We hoped to stay in this hotel in January but had to cancel our booking due to the Covid 19 situation in the Netherlands at the time. However, we could not receive refund even in the uncertain times. Eventually, with a struggle received a voucher. Not very helpful.

Qua ligging en sfeer onbetwist een top zaak. Ook de kamer is bijzonder en sfeervol. De bedden zijn perfect maar als mede gasten het slapen, door schreeuwen, gillen en deuren smijten tussen 2 en 4 uur s'nachts, onmogelijk maken drukt dat een negatief stempel op het verblijf. Met een onbemande nacht receptie rest niets anders je lot te ondergaan. Reactie van receptie achteraf kwam ook niet verder dan " bad luck". Kijkend naar de forse prijzen is dat inderdaad een wrange constatering.

geen Nederlands aan de receptie, een Engelse jongedame kon ons dus niet te woord staan. Ook aan het ontbijtbuffet, geen Nederlandstalig personeel, daarom kreeg mijn echtgenote dus zwarte koffie in plaats van zwarte thee, een schande! Het ontbijt was verder wel correct.

Zwei Nächte im Hotel Maison Haas Hustinx in Maastricht, gebucht Suite Nr. 13 mit Blick auf Vrtjthof, Kosten 620 Euro mit Frühstück. Wir, Ehepaar mit sehr ausführlichen Hotelerfahrungen im sehr gehobenen und Luxus Bereich weltweit. Das Zimmer im Hotel Maison Haas Hustinx war ordentlich sauber mit direktem Blick auf den Vrijthof, wo gerade eine Food Messe vorbereitet wurde, was erheblichen Baulärm am Tag und zeitweise auch in der Nacht verursachte und einen direkten Blick von oben in mehrere, direkt vor dem Fenster aufgestelltes Pissoir ermöglichte. Obwohl die Bautätigkeiten dem Hotel bekannt waren, wurden wir nicht vorab informiert. Die Fenster sind alt und undicht und nicht Lärm reduzierend, so ist an Schlaf eher nicht zu denken. Die Tür zwischen Bad und Schlafraum war irreparabel defekt, sodass diese nicht geschlossen werden konnte und geöffnet bleiben musste, was eine weitere Lärmquelle über das große und ebenfalls undichte Badfenster verursachte. Der Frühstücksraum ist zu klein sodass bei voller Belegung das Frühstück im Zimmer serviert wird, welches aber dafür mangels Tischs und Ablagen überhaupt nicht vorgesehen ist. Außerdem wurde das Frühstück ohne Kaffee und ohne Teller bereitgestellt, darum mussten wir uns auf Nachfrage selbst kümmern. Das vorhandene Spa wurde uns gegen eine Extra Gebühr von 25 Euro pro Person limitiert auf zwei Stunden angeboten, die Nutzung war nicht im sehr gehobenen Zimmerpreis enthalten, wir haben es nicht genutzt. Insgesamt ein sehr enttäuschender Aufenthalt, der Standard und Service entspricht einem Hotel im untersten Sternebereich, der Preis war extrem ungerechtfertigt.

We notified you a large group (including children) would be having breakfast during your wished time slot for one day, the other day the group had left. We gave you multiple options. The options were, having breakfast at your wished time slot with a busy breakfast area, or breakfast in the room, or breakfast a bit later when the group would have left. You had then chosen to have breakfast in the room. You visited the room- if you would have informed us the same day you would prefer to have breakfast in the serre, we would have arranged this for you. The large desk in the room, the two storey water trolly & orange poof gave you enough options to have a comfortable breakfast, though you chose to put it on the ground. Our breakfast is extensive, so we always have to walk twice in order to bring everything to your room. You came down visibly upset before we had the chance to bring the second part of the breakfast, including plates and your hot beverages. We are a 17 room boutique hotel in the city center of Maastricht, where we value an intimate and personal experience for each of our guests. Our breakfast area seats 32-36 guests, which was mostly occupied by the large group for an hour. Next to the different options we gave to ensure you had a comfortable breakfast experience for your partner, we had prepared a bottle of our Cava, in the afternoon, as a surprise in the room. The Vrijthof is one of the most visited places in Maastricht. The municipality of Maastricht organises a large variety of events throughout the year. We have sent our guests 2 e-mails the event would take place. One e-mail about the set-up dates, and one e-mail with all the information about the event. We do not have any say in the way events are set-up, this is all chosen by the hosts of the event, as you mentioned the urinals. Our hotel is located in a monumental, 100 year old historical building. We take great care of our Maison’s, but are restricted by following the strict rules given to us by the Maastricht monumental services, this means we are not allowed to replace the historical wooden windows with a modern version. The spa entrance can be booked daily for a one time payment of 25EUR per person. This grants you access to our swimming pool, hammam steam room, relaxation area and Finnish sauna for *each* day of your stay for 2 hours.
