The cabin was relocated here back in 1999 from Virginia where it was originally built. It is a true early settlers cabin. Combined space loft and main floor is 600sqt/ft. Each log is well over 150 years old. It has a kitchen with 4 eye cook top, convection oven/microwave, refrigerator with ice maker, living room, bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and shower combined. A loft bedroom accessed by a spiral staircase. This staircase is narrrow and dogs will have to be helped or carried up. Space would not allow a larger staircase. The loft is equipped with a queen size and a full size bed and rough pine furniture. The laundry room is located left on the back porch area it has both a washer and dryer. There is a front porch with two rocking chairs and a back porch with an outdoor grill. Both porches have winter time views of the mountains. The setting is trees and mountains all around with views up and down the .5 mile driveway. To sit in the cabin recliner and breath in what it must have been like for early settlers is a truly unique feel. A motion light with camera has been added to the entry to provide lighting and safety when entering and exiting and it will record when motion activated. WIFI High speed, Pots and pans, silverware plates, bowls, coffee cups, a wine opener, and can opener are also provided. A Keurig coffee maker and k cups are provided . The driveway is a wide one lane that leads to the cabin, and there is virtually no traffic except the occasional vehicle. The cabin is also located on a private drive. Hiking trails are located very close to the cabin. This cabin is next to a bathhouse. There are men's and women's restrooms. Both restrooms are equipped with 6 showers, 4 stalls, and 8 sinks. You will have complete access to restrooms and hot showers. There is no running water inside the cabin. If you need dishes washed, I am more than happy to wash them for you. You will also have access to the game room and exercise room. Across from the cabin is a large pasture where you can pet and feed our friendly animals. Pets are welcome. We do charge a pet fee of $50 per pet.Pets are welcome at the cabin and farm for an additional fee. Pet fee is $50 per pet. The pet fee can be flexible and discussed further if your pup is on the smaller side. Pets must be leashed when roaming the property. Pets must be crated if they are left unattended for any period of time. Pets are prohibited on beds or furnishings without a pet covering. The kitchen is very well stocked with dishes, glasses, utensils, pots & pans, place mats, cloth napkins, paper towels, trash bags, and lots of serving dishes. Just bring your groceries! Bathrooms have plenty of towels, washcloths, hand towels, and a blow dryer. This is a new remodel! Very secluded! Cell service is patchy. The drive way is a gravel road! You will want to drive a vehicle that has at least 5 or so inches in clearance! In the winter months it would be a good Idea to have FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE or ALL WHEEL DRIVE!! Sometimes we get winter weather.Hendersonville has so many places to visit and hike, DuPont Forest, Flat Rock Playhouse, Carl Sandburg Home, Chimney Rock, Historic Downtown Hendersonville, and Historic Downtown Saluda. Winter in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina not only has its own special beauty, but also offers a whole lot of fun. Western North has six ski resorts all within 1 to 2 hours away: Cataloochee Ski Area, Ski Sapphire, Wolf Ridge Ski Resort, Sugar Mountain, Beech Mountain and Appalachian Ski Mountain. Brevard is a must see and only 55 minutes away. The Brevard area offers many opportunities to listen to folk, bluegrass, rock and indie music. The area attracts many musicians. Brevards Main Street offers quaint local shopping. Convenient access to many biking, hiking and waterfall trails is nearby. Also during the season you can travel down the French Broad river by canoe or kayak. Fly fishing is available in the area. Golf is available as well. The Blue Ridge Parkway is 55 minutes away. If you're into craft beer there are several good breweries in our area including Oskar Blues and Sierra Nevada. Also Bold Rock cider is located nearby with many good ciders available. Most breweries offer live entertainment and food trucks. Just a helpful reminder the drive way is a one lane gravel road. Just installed a new home generator! September 27, 2024, is a day we will never forget here in WNC. Hurricane Helene wreaked havoc to this area of our mountains. Slowly but surely, we are rebuilding. Grandma's Cabin was miraculously spared and is now up and running.We do need to let everyone know that the road conditions are rough in some parts. The town of Chimney Rock is closed to the public while being rebuilt, Despite the devastation there is still so much beauty in this area in the land and people.We ask that you please abide the signs and the workers and support our communities.Thank youStep back in time with this rustic mountain cabin yet enjoy all the modern amenities of this 2 br/1 bath fully remodeled gem located on a 6 acre private, peaceful estate.Hang out with family and friends on the front porch in the rockers or try out the ever relaxing porch swing or grill out on the back porch.
