Avani Victoria Falls Resort

Pretty much everything you see in the photos is spot on. We had a ground floor room initially right next to our buildings entrance. We enjoy sitting outside on the little patio chairs. Standard room is good sized, large bed, very large bathroom and counter. all the things I look for when researching places. Staff and security guys very friendly and helpful. One reception guy helped us decide whether to ship or not (kinda expensive). TV reception initially was very bad. after speaking with the front desk and deciding we didn't like greeting everyone that came and went in our building we were moved to another room that night. 2nd room faced the wooded area in back and much more peaceful and secluded. watched the animals (zebras, monkeys, antelope) wander thru in the morning. Of all the places we visited the morning buffet was the BEST, so much to choose from. Ate most of our meals by the pool (limited menu) as we were just too tired to stay up for evening dinners. Highly recommend going to the Royal Livingstone Hotel for sundowners, its an amazing property right on the Zambezi. walking from the Avani is actually easy as its closer than I thought. definitely would stay here again, I cannot afford the Royal Livingstone :((

This hotel was great from the warm Zambian welcome by the dancers to zebra and impala roving the grounds. The location is excellent within a short walk of the falls and local safari to see the white Rhinos. The food and service at the pool bar and restaurant were excellent and the lavish breakfast prepared you for a big day sight seeing. Nothing was too hard for the management team. This is the place to stay to see Victoria Falls in Zambia.

It was a beautiful experience and a special bonding with the staff of Avani. The property is lovely. We stayed there from 24-30th May 2024. Even though there was an import KAZA summit, we did not face any inconvenience. The room service was a bit slow but the staff was extremely polite and helpful. It is the ideal hotel if you want to visit Victoria falls many times as its a 7 min walk to the falls as its connected. The Breakfast had a good spread. In the wing we stayed (1107), the lower level has family rooms with 2 twin beds and the level one has one king bed (smaller rooms). The beauty of the property is that there are zebras, impalas in the lawns which is exciting to watch. We had an unfortunate incident in our family during our stay, Each and everyone was extremely helpful and tried their best to comfort us in the best way possible. During our last 2 days at the Resort, we almost felt that they had become like a family to us. The Managers Biatrice, and Ritah as well as Jonathan went out of their way beyond their duty to be with us and support us. Very few hotels would give such a personal touch as they gave us. Matilda at the reception was extremely helpful. Throughout our meals, we had a happy cheerful lady Musole at the restaurant who served us amazing lunches, She had an amazing memory and remembered what we liked/ Even Perry at the restaurant gave excellent service. The resort has left unforgettable memories for us. Thank you Beatrice , Ritah, Jonathan and each one at Avani Resort

This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a hotel, especially with the staff, and I have stayed in everything from 9 euro backpacking hostels to 5-star luxury resorts. Some of the staff were incredibly rude, particularly Misozi - she spoke to us with an attitude as if we were not worth her time every time we asked a question or had a request. We had to ask repeatedly before we received any of the "benefits" that they flaunt when booking, such as a welcome drink as well as basic things like a water refill, mosquito repellent, etc. The "Discovery" tiered membership is a scam - when we arrived, they handed us a personalized letter listing the benefits that I receive as a member, but when we tried to use those benefits such as late checkout later on, they basically laughed in our faces and told us that we're not eligible and did not honor them - despite having written proof that was handed to us by them that we are eligible. Taxis that we requested the day prior from the front desk were 15+ minutes late, causing us to nearly miss our tour. On top of all that, the facilities are older than you would think from the photos and need updating. The shower constantly flooded. And, there was a mosquito crushed into one of the pillows when we first arrived. The free access to the falls was wasted on us because they were 100% dry when we were there - by no fault of the hotel, of course. The best part about the hotel is that there are zebras and giraffes walking the grounds, which is a novelty. However, not worth the steep price paid for a frankly insulting experience with the staff and the facilities of a low-to-mid tier hotel. Would never stay here again.

Love the location humble ever smiling staff ,warm welcome, level of professionalism ,Pool , room view, beds, food top level Chef Toure Mohamed just another level , Recommend and will come back soon !!
