Manty House (Lijiang)

Spacious room with amazing views—on clear days you can spot Yulong Snow Mountain! The staff are super kind, showed us around Lijiang Old Town, and helped with our luggage. The homestay is up on Shizi Mountain, so expect some climbing, but still an easy 5/5. Breakfast was great too!

beautiful hotel, with an incredible view. the staff was also super. the only problem was the unsatisfactory breakfast, not up to the standard of a hotel like this. but apart from this problem, highly recommended. choose it!

Place is decent. Host are very friendly polite and helpful. Close to place where all the shops are. Comfortable bed for sure😆

The Manty House is located in the highest and therefore quietest part of Lijiang Old Town, which makes it a special and atmospheric place to stay. The loggia is wonderful and offers a great spot to relax, though the cushions are sometimes used by the house cats. Only the top two rooms provide a real mountain view – the rest mainly face the courtyard, where everyone passes by the large windows. The building itself has charm, but it is aging and needs some renovation. Cleanliness was just acceptable. Unfortunately, the beds were not made during our stay. Equipment is also very limited – for example, only two teacups without a teapot for four people, or just two bathrobes provided. Breakfast is very simple: normally a Chinese noodle soup, or, upon request, two slices of toast, a fried egg, an apple, a cup of coffee, and a local pastry. Another point: no vehicles can reach the hotel, and luggage has to be carried up very steep stairs. Although a porter service is advertised, it did not respond to our request, so even at our very early departure (7 AM) we had to carry our bags ourselves. The staff is extremely friendly and always tried to help us, but communication is only possible with a translation app. The advertised children’s play area is not really available, but our kids enjoyed playing with the two young cats. A downside: staff smoked in the lounge area. Overall: A unique and quiet Old Town experience with warm-hearted staff and a beautiful loggia, but comfort, cleanliness, and equipment do not fully match the relatively high price. Manty民居位于丽江古城最上面、也是最安静的区域，位置非常特别。这里的露台（loggia）非常棒，很适合放松，不过靠垫经常被院子里的小猫使用。只有最上面的两个房间能真正看到雪山景，其余房间主要面向院子，窗户旁就是人来人往的小道。 房子本身有古朴的魅力，但已经比较老旧，有些地方需要翻新。清洁度一般，可以接受。不过在我们入住期间床没有整理过。配置也比较有限，例如四个人只提供了两个茶杯而没有茶壶，浴袍也只有两件。 早餐比较简单：一般是中式面条汤，如果提出要求，会有两片吐司、一只煎蛋、一个苹果、一杯咖啡和一份当地点心。 需要注意的是：酒店门口没有车能到，需要自己把行李搬上很陡的台阶。虽然据说有行李搬运服务，但我们联系后没有回应，所以即使我们早上七点退房，也只能自己搬行李。 工作人员非常友好，总是尽力帮忙，但沟通必须依靠翻译软件。宣传中的儿童游乐区其实并不存在，不过孩子们很喜欢和院子里的两只小猫玩。需要提醒的是，大厅里有工作人员吸烟。 总体来说：一次安静而独特的古城体验，有热情的员工和很好的露台，但在舒适度、清洁和设施方面，与相对较高的房价并不完全匹配。
