Extremely bad experience with the hotel. For context:
- I made a note for airport pick up service at 11.30pm which hotel confirmed. My next flight was scheduled at 7.10am
- Hotel did not leave any WeChat contact details, nor email
- I bought an eSIM for data roaming and do not have a China phone number.
On the arrival date, hotel did not initiate to contact me to arrange for airport pick-up. No information was given and nobody was waiting at the arrival gate. I contacted Trip to assist with liaising with the hotel and Trip only managed to speak to the hotel after 2hours. I was given the hotel’s WeChat and asked to initiate the contact with hotel to arrange for pick-up. After many frustrating conversations, I only managed to check in at 2.10am which affected my rest as I needed to leave for the airport at 5am for my next flight. Most importantly, none of the staff apologised or showed any sign of empathy or remorse. In fact, the staff were defensive and said that guests are expected to initiate contact with the hotel for pick-up service. If that is the case, leave WeChat contact details/ email, or pick up the phone when Trip attempted to liaise on behalf of guest. China phone number does not fulfil the need of foreign guests.
Less than 3hrs rest for the price paid and no attempt of service recovery. Asked for refund and was ignored (staff literally avoid eye contact). Too tired to argued further. And if my experience was not unique - one guest complained he wait 40 mins for the airport pick up and the other waited 1hr. Both are Chinese locals so I don’t think the issue is with the contact mode. It is just bad service. Do not recommend at all.
