I visited Knoxville to see family and do some remote work. I originally planned to stay at the Embassy Suites Knoxville West for the first third of my trip and then jump to another hotel for the remaining nights. However, my experience here was so good I changed my plans and ended up staying 7 out of my total 8 nights in town. Being solo and with lots of free time, I got to know the staff, by the end of my stay I felt like I was treated like family. Brianna and her front desk staff (Brianna, Bob, Nate, among others) always greeted me warmly and took care of whatever I needed. Housekeeping (esp. Melada) was especially flexible with me as I was often working when they came by to take care of my room. The support staff (Rey, Tano, and Mort, were available the one time I needed help with my room, and were always relaxed and jovial whenever I bumped into them during my stay. But of course, when it comes to Embassys, the thing that draws you is always the Manager's Reception and the morning omelets - And Knoxville West did not disappoint. Cleo, Delbert, Dave, and Ming in the kitchen know their way around the omelet station and provided a great start to my day (both food and atomosphere). Cleo also cooked some great specials while I was town. DJ was always around, making sure I had what I needed. I think the highlight for me was relaxing around the bar or the firepit in the evenings. DJ, Grey, Rebecka, and Erica had some great food/drink recommendations and were always welcoming when I stopped by after a long day of working out of my room. Going forward, this will be my new homebase whenever I visit Knoxville.
