The staff at this hotel were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast each morning and loved the convenient location close to major attractions."

The owner advised checkin cut off time 30 minutes before the actual cut off time. Denied us access we had to sleep in the streets in the car

The house is clean, beautiful and centrally located, near shops, restaurants and art galleries. The hosts are very nice and approachable, they had great recommendations in the area. The rooms are spacious and quiet.

The accommodation is one of the best places where I was. Sam and Sally are wonderful hosts and they make everything, that you feel familiar. The rooms and the house are lovingly furnished. The breakfast is with the freshest fruits and incredibly delicious. I think, it’s the best place in Johannesburg to make from strangers friends.

I stayed at the guesthouse for 2 nights and it was comfortable, with good amenities. Key was no power disruption and a well-stocked minibar. We were given good directions to get there and warned about the similarity between their suburb name and others in the area, so as to not go to the wrong address.

Beautiful house, brilliant staff, beautiful room, superb location, so accommodating. Brilliant food. Facilities are great. I cannot recommend Houghton Place enough. Sam is a delight, I will certainly be back!

Very nice place to stay and very well located. Wonderful hosts. Many thanks to Sam for his excellent advice on local eating options. The area is one of Joburg's safest and nicest suburbs to stay and drive around.

Staying at Houghton Place was a pleasure. The place is well located, the house is amazing and very confortable, the breakfast top, and the friendliness of Sam and Patricia was definitely a highlight. I definitely recommend stay at Houghton Place when you visit Johannersburg.
