Sleep Inn & Suites Steubenville at the University

GREAT EXPERIENCE! We stayed here while passing through on a family road trip, and I’m so glad we did! Our kids were antsy from being in the car and there was space outside for them to play and stretch their legs. I really appreciated the kind and hospitable staff who recommended a great place for us to grab dinner (Naples spaghetti house!). After dinner we came back and enjoyed dessert on the outside patio, the fire pit was a treat! We were surprised to see 2 top of the line built in BBQs out there as well, they’ve really made an extra effort to make this a comfortable place for short or long term stays. Our room was clean and everything was in working order. We had a beautiful view of the river and the bridge! My husband is SUPER PICKY about mattresses and he said he slept like a baby. He also loves cranking up the AC anytime we stay anywhere—our room was an icebox just how he likes it. I appreciated the hot, clean shower, the nice bath products, and the soft sheets and luxurious pillows. After the kids were asleep I went and stretched and walked on the treadmill in the workout room. This morning we all enjoyed a nice big breakfast on the patio before we hit the road. Our kids loved making their own waffles! Our stay here was perfect from start to finish, in fact I’m really glad we picked here to stay on our road trip layover, it was the perfect place for us all to recharge! I can’t believe this place wasn’t more expensive!

This is a great hotel. The staff was wonderful, very friendly and accommodating. I was traveling with my parrot and they accepted him. Many hotels state they are pet friendly but only accepts dogs. They welcomed my parrot and all of us. The hotel is clean, modern, breakfast was great!! There is a workout room and a little section with snacks. We will definitely be back!

Cathy and her entire staff were extremely accommodating during my stay in Steubenville. I was treated like royalty from the moment I walked in. The Wi-Fi worked great and felt secure. I had a great view of the bridges out my window from the elevated room I requested and was granted. The fireworks between Weirton and Steubenville were extra special this year from my view perched on the hill. When I needed to extend my stay I was allowed. Even during the busy conference time and concert season just down the road! Breakfast is ok. The cleaning staff has worked tirelessly to make sure I had everything I needed during my stay. It was truly an incredible hospitality experience and I’m certain it’s in part because of the people working here.

The rooms are in bad shape and the common areas (elevators and stairwells) were literally filthy. The room stunk like smoke and funk. There was rust throughout the bathroom. The linens were cheap and wrinkled. The thermostat had exposed wiring. Given the conditions, these rooms should be $35 a night.
