We are regular guests of Gold Coast hotel. We looked forward to this hotel again to have a good rest after a long flight. However, this time the hotel failed to give us the well rested service we needed.
Actually, when we checked in for 4 days stay, we got nicely upgraded to a room with a small balcony but with an awesome plant of Bauhinia's. This was appreciated. The amenities were a bit poorly arranged but this was understable with the influx of Mainland China guesst to this hotel.
The real trouble started on the 3rd night, we didn't slept well but we could not understand why and our night came short. Then on the 4th night just after we were ready to go to sleep, we felt the room became terriblbly warm, even with blasting the AC for more tha. 30 minutes. We called the service desk and a technician came to check out on the AC during midnight. It appeared to be 26.5 degrees Celsius! He could not fix this and request us to move to another room, next door from room 306 to room 305.
Annoyingly we had no choice than to pack our things and change room at around 2am in the night and had to wake up at 6am for an early check out for other biz travel commitment. So , eventually our last night stay became very short and with a minimum of sleep.
Luckily the Gold Coast technician was very helpful in arranging the room change for us in the middle of the night. We regret we never heard from the on-duty manager for the AC technical failure. A 5 star hotel should take you better of their guests, especially loyal and returning guests.
A poor experience this time. Need to be shared too.
