The Convent Boutique Accommodation

Misleading…… we booked a 3 bedroom place at the Convent as we have stayed there before expecting this would be on the Pine St address. This time they changed the address on our arrival day to Tom’s Place? It was soooo disappointing! No wi-fi, floors creaked beyond comprehension, front door falling off the hinge, no wine glasses, only 2 outdoor chairs for a 3 bed house, there were 4 of us, No fans in 2 of the bedrooms, no dustpan, shower not suitable for older persons as you have to climb into a bath and no railing, no hangers. So disappointed that they could rent this out under the Convent Boutique banner.

We were misled to think we were booking accomodation at the Convent and instead we were allocated a run down old house in a different location called 'Tom's Place' for $260 per night. This was one of the worst places we have ever stayed. It has not been maintaned and is not fit to be a rental property. Some of the issues with the place were: - No dish cloth in kitchen to wash up - Toilet constantly running - Bathroom door handle falling off - Mould on bathroom ceiling - Half used roll of toilet paper on toilet roll - Outdoor table covered in dust We never leave negative reviews but compared to other accomodation we've stayed in across regional NSW for the same price this was a really poor experience.

Our second stay at this stunning quality accommodation and after a very long drive, a peaceful “haven” (or should it be “heaven”!) before continuing our road trip. A flawless and personalised checkin was much appreciated. The “Woolshed” was spotless - a huge room and bathroom and without any doubt, the most comfortable bed that we encountered over many holidays. The recommended Riverina Hotel provided us with excellent meals before hurrying back to enjoy the comforts of our room. May Geoff continue to offer his wonderful establishment for many more years to come!

We stayed overnight in Tysons room. It was beautiful and very quiet. Dispute our window outlook into the beautiful alfresco dinning of the cafe we did not hear a peep from staff when the opened the cafe in the morning. Beautiful breakfast and just a short stroll to the Main Street on Hay. We would happily stay again. Our room had an ensuite as does the pool room the other two room inside the convent have separate bathrooms which were individually locked and close to each room and would be perfectly fine as well

PROS - Room was beautiful decorated and very spacious. Heater was turned on before our arrival, so room was toasty warm. Bed was very comfortable. CONS - Bathroom was situated away from bedroom (out in the hallway) and required a key to get in and the key to lock once you're inside. It was lovely but very cold. First thing in the morning, freezing hallway, fumbling with a key to get into the bathroom, then again to get it in the lock on the inside (there's a few rooms, anyone could walk in). No heater in the bathroom and with the fan on (comes on with the light), the cold air was pretty uncomfortable. The fridge in the room was noisy so had to turn that off over night.

Stunning convent conversion with huge size rooms. Super clean and lovely and warm. Only a stroll to the local pub for dinner. Exceptional customer service. Shower was super hot and clean. Breakfast and coffee were delicious. A must visit, highly recommend!
