The Naming of RENEBLEU
“Rene” is inspired by Belgian surrealist artist René Magritte,
and “Bleu” means “blue” in French.
The name “RENEBLEU” was born from the blue sky and the clear sea of Songjiho Beach,
which resemble the mirrored imagery of Magritte’s artwork La Décalcomanie.
RENEBLEU reflects the artistic philosophy of René Magritte —
bringing a fresh perspective to the familiar and celebrating whimsical imagination —
while offering a space where guests can fully experience the serene beauty of Songjiho Beach.
From the sea that mirrors the sky,
to the layered sand-inspired ground-level entrance,
the wave-like terraces on the lower levels,
and the upper floors modeled after the bamboo groves of Jukdo Island —
each element symbolically and surrealistically expresses the harmony between the hotel and nature.
