The Waverley Hotel

A warm friendly 4 night stay at the end of February. We had a suite which was very spacious. Clean linen, white bedding. Room spruce over each day. Towels changed when left in tub. Tea/coffee making tray well stocked. Hairdryer provided. Room very warm with fan provided. On the whole a tidy and relatively clean stay. A nice relaxed atmosphere. Entertainment on twice in the week. Very friendly staff who ran efficient meal times. Kept same seating arrangement for meals. Hats off to the chef 🎩 food was always a credit and looked after my partner exceptionally well with his gluten free diet. (messaged in advance on the Caledonian site) Hotel itself is in a great locality close to the front and about 10 mins walk to the town. Would stay here again.

I'll not deny this hotel could do with a refurb, but in the areas that matter it's very good. The beds were comfortable and extremely clean linen. Good shower with plenty of hot water. The food was piping hot and delicious but above all the staff are warm, friendly and extremely keen to make your stay enjoyable. Located minutes from the sea front and shopping area. Manager was very hands on in reception area and came on to our bus to thank us for being lovely guests etc. and wish us a safe journey home.

We were on a coach trip and stayed for two nights. We were a bit dubious as quite a strong musty/damp smell as we walked in. However our room was lovely in fact we were allocated a suite complete with jacuzzi, sadly we couldn't use it as no plug 😔. Bedding was clean, however for the size of the bed a bigger quilt would have been better. The food was very good and plentiful and the dining room was spotless. Staff were excellent, very helpful and chatty. Location is good, 10 minutes walk into town and five to the pier. Could do with a bit of TLC but all in all a great place to stay.

Stayed in alot of hotels around the country with Caledonian travel and this is one of the best . The room was spotless lovely and warm and bed was lovely and comfortable Staff are lovely and friendly and the food was delicious and they were very generous with the portions bar prices very reasonable too it's just such a shame it's so far down the country from us in the North East

We had a wonderful suite, but i gather others were not so lucky. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the meals lovely and hot. Well presented. Nice location. Comfortable although had to turn off radiator as it was very hot and had to open window.

We have just departed the Waverley hotel, having stayed 2 nights from 25th to 27th November'24. Our hotel was part of our package with Caledonian Travel, having booked a 3 day trip from the North East to vsist the Thursford Christmas Spectacular (separate review to follow). Back to the Waverley hotel. We arrived at the hotel for 420pm on Monday & we were allocated Room 207 on 2nd floor. Our room was a suite & it was a very large & spotlessly clean room with a nice big bathroom too. We had a very comfortable double bed, 2 bedside cabinets & lamps, wardrobe, a desk unit with tea/coffee & bottled water, hairdryer plus two armchairs & a table infront of our bay windows. We had plenty of towels & toilet rolls in the bathroom & the heating was always on in both rooms. We were half board for our stay & the food was fantastic. Dining room very well organised & run, excellent menu choices & they had no issues accommodating the hubby's dietary requirements. Last night's turkey dinner was delicious 😋. The bar & lounge areas are all nice & bright with plenty of seating. We'd seen some mixed reviews online regarding the hotel but please don't be put off by them. The manager is very polite & helpful, staff are great, rooms are clean & tidy & the food is spot on. Thank you to the management & staff for an enjoyable stay, we will definitely be back in the future. 10/10
