Lariviere

We are so glad we found La Rivière! We were hoping to take a restful day off from our travelling through France, and La Rivière was the perfect place. We chose “La suite Balnéo”, which is two rooms – a lounge with a huge spa bath and a bedroom upstairs with yet another (roll-top) bath. Our room was clean, comfortable, spacious, had tea / coffee making facilities and even dressing gowns! There’s also a shared lounge area with plenty of comfy seating for when the weather isn’t suitable to be outside. There’s a petanque / boules court, a small (but sufficient) swimming pool, a hot tub / spa, comfy outdoor chairs, some miniature goats, and the most laid-back cat (Tony) we’ve ever come across. If you really must “connect”, then there’s free Wi-Fi too. La Rivière is a few minutes’ drive from the nearest village, so it’s nice and peaceful, and was a perfect location for our quiet day off by the river. Matthias is a charming and entertaining host, as well as an outstanding cook. His English is excellent, so if your French is a bit rusty, fear not… you will have great fun improving each other’s vocabulary! A generous and delicious continental breakfast got us off to a great start to the day. On both evenings we asked to “eat in” and Matthias personally prepared very high quality dinners for us from his menu. Eating breakfast and dinner on the terrace overlooking the river was a delight, especially when joined by Matthias in the evening after dinner for conversation and a glass or three of the local wine. We enjoyed our stay at La Rivière very much and will certainly visit again when we’re next in that area. Highly recommended.

Mateus and his team are a very welcoming and friendly, as are the cat (Big tony) and the pygmy goats. Very nice dinner and breakfast served on the first floor terrace overlooking the river and we can recommend the local Bordeaux.

Très belle découverte que cette chambre d'hôtes à l'occasion de la Saint Valentin. Emilie et Matthias sont aux petits soins pour vous accueillir dans les meilleures conditions. Produits frais et de qualité, décoration faite avec goût, prestations externes (jacuzzi avec fourniture de peignoirs) des plus agréables. La literie et la restauration sont au top également. Nous y retournerons à coup sûr. Je recommande très chaleureusement cet endroit.

une adresse à garder précieusement et à partager . à 5 minutes de l'autoroute, dans un havre de paix . c'était juste parfait ! l'intérieur est décoré avec beaucoup de gout, la chambre est magnifique, la literie hyper confortable, les planches de charcuterie et le foie gras servis dans le jardin inoubliables ! Merci Mathias et Emilie pour cette parenthèse si reposante, pour votre gentillesse, et l'attention que vous portez à vos clients. nous reviendrons vous voir avec plaisir. Patricia

Es un hotel que se respira tranquilidad y sosiego, con unos excelentes anfitriones, acudimos a pasar la noche sin reserva y nos acogieron con una increíble amabilidad, era tarde y aún así nos prepararon una cena gourmet excelente con un buen vino, la Decoración es un 10 y la limpieza también. Un sitio indispensable para conocer. Gracias Mathias y Emily. Deseamos volver con más tiempo.
