Sunvalley Homestay

This was may 6th trip to Sunvalley and I always feel Sunvalley is a home away from home. Right from the time you enter the resort, you are taken care like a family member. All the rooms get an unblocked view of the tea garden and the walk is mesmerizing. The food served in the restaurant is really amazing and fresh. Chichi (one of the chef) is always welcoming with a smile and makes some yummy dishes. The usp of the place is there staff which makes sure your stay is super comfortable especially Raghav (great singer) who is always welcoming. I would highly recommend this place to everyone who want to have some great time.

We were on a group trip recently and stayed at Sunvalley for a night. It was a great experience overall. We enjoyed every aspect of the stay including the well appointed rooms, the views , views, open areas for camp fire and food . A special word about the staff - they were all so friendly and always ready to help. The only challenge is the last 500m of approach road which would test one’s driving skills to the fullest. Here again, the resort is proactive in informing you about this and they also send their own person to pick us up if not comfortable driving on that stretch. Last but not the least, the trip was extra special for me Thanks to Alex, the in-house super friendly pet.

Had a pleasure of staying at Sunvalley Homestay for couple of days in Nov 2024. This is actually like a boutique hotel which gives you all the comforts you need from a hotel stay while the location/service is such that it gives you a pampering feeling like you are at home. The approach to this place is somewhat narrow and may create some doubts in mind on how this place would be but once you reach there all doubts vanish ! .. This property is at the end of the road where you have unobstructed view of Tea plantations right from your room balcony, you can roam around in this plantation for whatever time you want and it all feels exclusive !!.. I did see many tourists came from Ooty to get some fun time in the crowded tea plantations while Sunvalley has its own plantations where you can be just by yourself and enjoy the surroundings for whatever time you want ! The key highlight of this place is staff ! Right from Michael and Sharad at the reception, Roy and Nandu as a support staff, Aaquib Biplab Ashwin Sujana Kanjana who all serve you sumptuous tasty food with a smile on the face, they all make your stay comfortable and memorable.. I am sure there are others whom I couldnt ask their names ! .. But staff is the greatest highlight of this place. The breakfast was amazing and always something fresh that we enjoy a lot ! .. There is a play room for kids, comfortable parking for cars and some other activities that they can arrange for you.. I would definitely recommend this place for a wonderful experience at Coonoor and would like to come here again on my next visit !.. Kudos to the team !

1. Check-In Process The check-in process was quick and seamless. Upon arrival, the staff promptly assisted with transporting our luggage to the room. We were especially impressed by their attentiveness—they called ahead to provide detailed directions to the resort, as Google Maps occasionally suggests confusing routes. 2. Location & Surroundings The resort is situated in a picturesque location, offering stunning scenic views from the rooms. It truly feels like you're staying next to a tea estate. The resort is also conveniently located, allowing guests to take a pleasant walk to the tea estate that's directly linked to the property. 3. Accommodation Our room was impeccably clean and well-maintained. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful sleep. The addition of a hot water kettle was especially helpful when traveling with kids. 4. Facilities & Services The resort is beautifully designed and meticulously maintained, with thoughtful touches such as strategically placed plants and swings in various areas. The staff was consistently courteous and helpful throughout our stay. The resort also offers excellent facilities for children, with separate play areas for small kids and teenagers. We particularly enjoyed the teenage room, which featured a carom board, an Xbox (paid), Ludo, and foosball—my son had a great time there in the evenings. 5. Customer Service & Staff The staff was exceptional from start to finish, providing warm and attentive service that made us feel truly at home. Their hospitality was a standout feature of our stay. 6. Food & Dining The food quality and taste were outstanding. The resort provides a personal touch, especially during breakfast, where the staff serves you with care and encourages you to enjoy more. Since the restaurant is not very large, the staff ensures that we place our orders ahead of time to avoid any delays, ensuring a smooth and satisfying dining experience. 7. Resort Ambience & Design The resort has a cozy, homely feel that makes it a perfect place for relaxation. It's beautifully decorated, with an array of well-placed plants, swings, and other charming details. The view from the rooms is breathtaking, and the ability to walk directly to the nearby tea estate was an added bonus. 8. General Experience & Suggestions for Improvement Overall, we were extremely pleased with our stay at this resort and would love to return. We enjoyed the location, the comfort of the accommodations, the quality of food, and the overall ambiance. However, I have a few suggestions that could enhance the experience even further: A. Signage: Once you’re close to the resort, it would be helpful to have more signs ***** the route to guide guests to the property. Even though the hotel staff called us with directions, we did make one small mistake on the way, but they were quick to assist. B. Rain Protection: Given the frequent rainfall in Coonoor, it would be beneficial to have umbrellas or cov

Had an excellent time at Sun valley with my family, thanks to the very friendly staff. They are all like one big family welcoming guests to their home here. Appreciate their attention to detail and flexibility to accommodate special requests. The last mile access road to this place is narrow and somewhat steep, but an experienced driver can handle it. If requested, I heard that their valet drivers would also drive your vehicle safely in and out of this stretch. This little inconvenience is totally worth the views from the balcony of your room. I was driving from Bangalore and they also sent clear directions to reach there from Ooty with good roads. Google Maps can show tricky, dangerous roads so better follow their guidance even if you have to drive a few kilometres extra. One suggestion to the hotel: please alert tourists from Mysore/Bangalore about the dangerous Bandipur-Kallati-Ooty with 36 hairpin bends and very steep inclines. The Gudalur route is safer, especially if you are not a local or not VERY experienced with hill driving.

This wasn't our first visit to Sunvalley and I must say the experience only gets better every time. The view is nothing short of magical in the mornings. Sunvalley is on the path to mastering hospitality. The ever smiling faces of every staff member shows the genuine need to keep their guests happy. The food here is like a warm hug, Sujana chechi is all love, it shows and how ! Thank you for being a big part of making our vacation another memorable treasure ❤️ I wish the entire team the very best
