Vieng Mantra Hotel

I stayed at Vieng Mantra for 7 nights and loved it. What a gorgeous little boutique hotel down a quiet little Soi in the Old city. It is very well priced for what it delivers. The rooms are spacious with a good sized bathroom and a lovely balcony, most overlooking the central pool. Housekeeping were super efficient, the girls at reception were lovely and spoke reasonable English. There’s a little tea/coffee station near reception, if you run out in your room. Bikes are available for rent at the front. Lerts is directly opposite, his food is excellent and he’s super charming. It is literally 150m from Tha Phae gate and so many sights in easy walking distance. What more could you want. Unfortunately I had a noisy neighbour which was annoying plus it was a little frustrating that the Wifi wasn’t automatic (meant you had to keep logging in). Other than these minor things, I would return here no hesitation. Awesome value for money!

Argos1909 who wrote a review Dec 2023 sounds like a big giant Karen. Worst hotel in Chiang Main and not even a hostel? Get real. I have stayed here before and plan to stay here again this year. He/she also claimed the photos are misleading...I can show you photos from my own trip and they look exactly the same as the photos you will see on the site. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this hotel, and it's FAR from being a hostel. You also get what you pay for...who choses a super cheap hotel and then rants like they're judging a 5-star resort?? It's clean, staff is friendly, and the location is perfect. There are also scooter rentals super close by. The pool is pretty small, but I didn't come to Chiang Mai to relax around a pool...I came here to join the lantern festival, volunteer taking care of elephants, and take advantage of Benny's cooking class. If you're such a Karen that you have to unplug a fridge to get some sleep, maybe save us all from your fit throwing and just don't travel. Normal people bring ear plugs on vacation if noise bothers them that much.

The worst place in Thailand. Beware of this place. DECEIVING PHOTOS!!!!!!. Noisy as hell after 6am, we couldn’t sleep with the staff around the kitchen working early in the morning. I don’t know doing what as they only have cereal and instant coffee. Our room was dark and awful. We had to unplugged the little fridge to try to sleep. Not even a hostel!!! We took the time to publish real photos so no one else gets tricked by this place We will never be back to this place!!! The worst.

We stayed here for 3 nights and were very happy with the property. It's a small boutique hotel on a quiet side street just inside the Tae Phae Gate of the old city and right off a main road. About a 15 min. walk to the river. Our 3rd floor room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable, and faced the courtyard, overlooking the smallish pool. The bathroom was spacious, although the shower could use updating. The shower head is a hand-held shower that kept falling off the bracket which got the floor wet a few times. Also, there's no outlet in the bathroom (just something to be aware of). A basic continental breakfast is included, although we didn't eat at the hotel. The hotel is close to many cafes and shops. You can easily walk to any of the dozens of temples within the old city walls. There is a laundry service just around the corner that charged 60 THB/kg. and can have your laundry done by the end of the day (express service -120 THB/kg). We loved Stories Cafe for breakfast (a short 4 minute walk away). We arrived on a Sunday, just in time for Sunday Night Market! If you're in Chiang Mai on a Sunday night, don't miss it! The best thing about this property is its location.

The location of Vieng Mantra is absolutely great, just inside the walls off the old town in Chiang Mai. We walked to all of the sights in the old town, plenty of great restaurants and bars within walking distance too and because it sits on a small narrow street just off the main street, it is really nice and quiet which makes from great quality sleeps. The room itself was perfect with a comfortable bed, large bathroom with a good hot shower and everything was very clean. We didn't use the pool whilst we were there but that looked great too. I guess the only thing that would've made this a 9 or a 10 would've been better breakfast options. Currently only toast with butter and jam and some bananas were on offer. Not sure if this is still post pandemic issues or something. Still great they did offer something at least but it made us have to go out for some more breakfast each morning.

Intentaron cobrarnos nada más llegar por nuestra hija aunque en booking ponía que mayores de 9 eran bienvenidos pero sin cama extra , después de explicárselo lo comprobaron y no lo pagamos, pero el último dia al irnos decian que una toalla, presuntamente nuestra, no lo sabemos, tenia manchas de maquillaje que no habían salido y nos cobraron 200 bath por una toalla nueva, increíble, lo pagamos por no tener más problemas pero llevad cuidado porque te intentan engañar desde que entras por la puerta, y el personal muy desagradable, unos malos modos ...
