My husband and I wanted a hotel that was in the old part of town in Bucharest. This did not disappoint. We specifically wanted a hotel that was European and not a US chain hotel. This hotel is absolutely charming. It is OLD and only a couple of blocks from a main Metro station and smack in the middle of everything old town. People laughing, eating, touring and having fun. The hotel, itself, is very small having only 41 rooms. There are 2 rooms to a floor. The staff is there 24/7 and was extremely helpful. The breakfasts were wonderful. It was enough for the whole day except there were too many good places to eat too close by the hotel. It is on a pedestrian st but about 50 meters from a Hilton which is on a main street. The streets are not cobblestone but stones set in the road and it would be rough if you are fully mobile. The elevator is an old brass one that you found in Paris 40 years ago, although is it a new replica. It fits 3 people or One person and a big suitcase. :) Next door is a small ice cream place called Pasteis de Nata. The best Natas outside of Portugal, and maybe in Portugal too. The bathrooms are large and the bath tub we had could hold 2 people easily. The water pressure was wonderful. I think the best thing about it was the 2 leather chairs that you could sink into and watch TV or have a glass of wine or beer. The outdoors can be noisy but the windows are double pained and when we closed them, there was no noise. If noise bothers you or you are a light sleeper, ask for a room in the back. I would stay here again, and it was a perfect choice for us. Oh, and oh yes, it was CLEAN.
