The location was good, close to the station. Bedrooms felt a bit dusty. The lift is too old to be impressive.

Excellent experience due to being double booked elsewhere and the alternative was the Valley of Brisbane CBD which was why I chose to stay at Backpacker's close to Central ill be honest I was dreading it and was not feeling positive about having to stay because it's full of young people and im in my late 50s so I just thought what the hell!!. But from the moment I walked in up to Reception there he was Mike the Pommy Fella (Gold) with his misgevious smile and keen wit Welcomed me into the Building I thought 😀 that's a great start at 7:30am on a Sun morning being early for my check in just asked would you like to leave your bags here? i said with that's exactly what I'd like to do relief 😌 that yes one less issue he handed over the Monkey soft toy i thought fair enough your not gonna lose that bugger lmao 🤣 but soon I was back out and handed back the Trusted Stead fyi:(He Could do with a Wash) I arrived back that afternoon 2-ish and checked in again Mike and another lady were sorting through the new check inns and I gladly jumped into line choosing to sit away from Reception to give them a bit more space after a sort period 5min Mike popped out from around Reception and motioned me over im not to sure if he read my Jet lag body language but he handed me my Rm information and explained everything clear and concise which was music to my ears popped me into Nostalgic Lift Elevator also explaining how it operated so Cool up to Lv3 I went, a few hour's later I awoke rested and energized so I pop down and picked up my luggage from the Storage room. I failed to mention that Mike had upgraded me from Share Dorm Rm to Double bed Single room honestly I was so comfortable and relaxed for the whole duration of my stay Mike did me a Solid and made my stay so enjoyable that ill go out of my way to stay there again next im visiting Family in Brisbane 5Star treatment in a 2-3 star Setting my experience will be remembered thanks Mike keep Smiling Buddy yourcan asset to that business. If your ever in NZ you have a Friend on Waiheke Island "Kia Ora"

Centrally located across from Central station and near to Queen Street shopping precinct. Needs to be deeply and properly cleaned, particularly the bathrooms.

It’s too noisy from people and from outside the bed also making sounds when you turn . Its impossible to fall asleep.not a good place to stay

Location is really good, staff are super friendly, but the hostel is quite old.

Good service, hassle free check in and checkout.

In truth it was exactly what I was looking for. I had work in the city so I was only in the room for a few hours. Got to meet interesting people and had a lot of fun. I look forward to going back. The vintage aesthetic whilst didn't always feel safe was really cool and fit the Vibe.

the basement is a nightclub that will shake the building and blast music all night. its also next to another which will do the same. the building is ancient. the pictures are fake. probably digitally touched up. the rooms are not clean. the carpet in the halls is to hide the holes in the wood. the ancient paint is peeled off. the lockers imaged have no locks. the baggage room is public, not secure. many listed ammenities are false advertising. no haidresser (oh no), no laundry. filthy mouldy showers are avaliable but no towels. There is no air conditioning. some rooms have ceiling fans. the kitchen is bad. filthy, no equipment is clean, no hot water. the elevator is ~100 years old, is faulty, slow and tedious to use. There is a 'rest area' of dirty couches, it looks nothing like the images (a common theme). There is no ATM. "accessable" lol, good luch getting a chair into that elevator. toilets are filthy too, I go elsewhere like gym or library. I go to the gym to shower because this place is filthy. there is nothing to dry your hands with. I stayed in a 4 room and a 12 room. 12 was better than 4. hope you dont get someone spraying deodourant every couple hours. I'm allergic and it doesnt clear out for an hour. the bunks are fine. the 12 room one didnt shriek and squeak and was adult sized. the 4 room was a squeaky childrens bunk and i couldnt sit. I came when it was 20c out but it'd be awful in the cold with these blankets. Its safe to sleep but dont expect security for items. some people like to leave the doors open. in heinsight i'd try the other backpackers and ask if they do towels or have laundry. trains and busses are good here, so the distance would be fine. If i had to be here again i'd try a private room for security but you'd still have no shower.

Not as good as I wondered

Very close to Central train station so quite easy to get to. However this hostel is very dirty and the luggage room does not seem very secure.
