Sunbeach Hotel and Resort

Wow what can i say amazing place great staff great food seaview room not far to walk to anything . Loved it so much already booked for nxt year this time for 3 weeks 10 hours of hot sunshine . See you all nxt year room 216 just great.food was delightful and plenty . Great omelettes cooked fresh while you wait very enjoyable experience bar staff are amazing we got table Service nearly every night thankyou.

Having returned right at the end of the season, we didn't know what to expect, but were very pleasantly surprised. The reduced staff were as delightful as ever and despite the hotel being quietly packed away for the off-season, were always very attentive and it was as clean as ever. The low occupancy meant that it was largely quiet and even more relaxed without so much arranged entertainment. This was available in Ocean Bay hotel 100m down the road. The food quality was superb and the kitchen never stopped making more than enough, so a diet is now required. Without the beach cleaner, the beach was a bit scruffy, particularly as there were several celebrations on it at night. However, since it's the tourists that usually leave the mess, 10 minutes filling a rice bag with litter was no great loss or effort. Two things were obvious though; Firstly several guests were openly concocting complaints for a later attempt at a discount. I didn't know that this was 'a thing' but the hotel staff were on to it, so Tui beware. Secondly, the creeping in of personal speakers has not yet been stopped here, so the pool area is now a cacophony of noise, though some seem ok with this. If this gets to the beach there will be many looking elsewhere for a holiday. All in all the 'end of term' atmosphere at Sunset Beach was different, but still worth the flight.

The staff in the hotel are all lovely without exception. Very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We arrived there on the 16th April unaware that the hotel was preparing to close for their annual break. This meant that some items were not available. The All inclusive is limited in the first place and with the supplies being run down they were limited further. Most of the drinks in the all inclusive were not very nice, no Diet Coke and no decent tonic for gin. The food was prepared very nicely but again very limited on choice compared to other all inclusive hotels I’ve stayed at. It is not a luxury hotel by European standards. Peak season guests will have hopefully had a better experience. Overall I’d say the facilities in the hotel make it a 3 star at best. Lovely position on the beach with a great view. For the money we paid we would choose a different hotel. If you venture out of the hotel as we did you will be constantly harassed by locals, they are very polite but do not leave you alone and take no for an answer and guilt trip you into giving them anything including flip flops off your feet. I didn’t appreciate before going how poor this country is.

Forth visit to this fantastic hotel ok some of the new staff in the restaurant in the morning not as attentive as previous staff but hopefully they will improve, but as usual food was great, room was amazing , sunbeds out side our room beach 50 ft away what more could you ask for . Yolanda and Ada could not be better bar staff and Ada at the quiet pool was lovely shame not a few more customers around that pool not many people seemed to know about it tho. Cape point seems to be having a lot of development done at the moment so more places to walk to and enjoy

My partner and I stayed here for 10 days in December 2023 for a winter holiday. We had a enjoyable experience and the hotel is perfectly adequate, however for me it falls slightly short of a 4 star rating compared to some of the other places we've stayed in. The hotel location is right next the beach, and there is a small market and one or two restaurants nearby, but this wasn't an issue as we were all inclusive. I really enjoyed the food, although some things would run out at busy times, but they would always be refilled. The rooms were nice enough but not too flashy. But they had everything we needed. The only thing I would say was lacking, was fresh bottled water on a daily basis. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we always had good service at the restaurant and bars. The entertainment was okay, but I wasn't too keen on some members of the entertainment crew who would be a bit too persistent when trying to get you to play beach volleyball or pool zumba etc. after being told "no thanks". On the whole I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and I would give it 3.9 if I could but it's not quite a 4. I would happily stay there again in future.

Spent a week at Sun Beach and didn't want to leave. Right down from the cleaners up to top management they are an absolute gem of a team. Food is first class along with the waiter/waitress service. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. We used the guys outside the hotel for the lazy day trip. Fantastic... Big shout out to Gabriel for sorting this and taking us on this amazing trip along the River Gambia. Also thanks to Lamin for taking us to the lovely room when we arrived and making sure everything was okay. Far too many to mention for thanks. Already looking at going again next year

Just returned from another great week spent at this hotel . Weather was good and people very friendly. We had a couple of issues with our room but both was sorted very quickly . Great food with plenty of choice ,always managed to find something we liked and tried lots of different things also . Staff are so friendly and helpful and cannot do enough for you . We will definitely be back

We know the Gambia very well and we were delighted that we had selected Sunbeach hotel & resort. We found the management and all the staff to be 100% professional in every way. ***** We will definitely stay there again. It would be unfair to single out individual staff to thank as we thought they were all very friendly and made our stay a really pleasurable experience. So a big thank you to you all.

Just returned from a 2 week holiday at this amazing Hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious. Stayed in room 115 which had a frontline sea/beach view. A very laid back hotel perfect for relaxing. The staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you. Food was good with lots of choice. Will definitely return and highly recommend it.
