Our home features a Chef’s kitchen with all stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. Including blender, crock pot, toaster, Keurig, coffee pot, pots/pans, bakeware and dishware. Plus plenty of different types glasses for your favorite beverage and we didn’t forgot the corkscrew either! You won't even need to pack any spices, there is a spice rack with all the spices to cook up your favorite meal. We have a brand new propane grill just outside the kitchen with beautiful views of the lake while you cook! Our large farm style table seats up to 10 adults, with additional eating area at the kitchen island, also a table outside under the covered porch, and a picnic area downstairs- all with spectacular lake views! Lake Hickory was created on the Catawba River in 1927 with the completion of the Oxford Dam 11 miles (18 km) northeast of Hickory. The dam parallels the NC Highway 16 bridge over the Catawba River between Interstate 40 and Taylorsville. It is 122 feet (37 m) high, with an overall length of 1,200 feet (370 m). The spillway section of the dam is 550 feet (170 m) long. The lake was named after the City of Hickory and runs along its northern edge. It covers almost 4,223 acres (17.09 km2) with 105 miles (169 km) of shoreline. Full pond elevation is 935 feet above sea level. It is perfect for those who love to swim, ski, tube, boat or enjoy some of the finest fishing in the area. The lake is home to many different species of fish including Striper bass, largemouth and spotted bass, crappie, lake perch, bluegill, sunfish as well as a variety of catfish.
