This is perhaps the best rental in downtown Belfast. We have over 15 years experience serving the short term rental market in Belfast. This one is our most luxurious rental to date. Luxury abounds in this modern, spacious apartment newly built 10 years ago inside one of the oldest surviving timber frame buildings in downtown Belfast. This fantastic apartment is perfect for a family or for 3 couples as each bedroom has its own living room and there are three bathrooms, each more distinctive and luxurious than the next. For ultimate privacy, no bedroom shares a wall with another bedroom. The two upstairs bedrooms have king beds and the first floor bedroom has a queen bed . There is also a Queen sleeper in the upstairs den. The apartment is on the top two floors of the Ocean House, a recently renovated 1865 building in the heart of downtown Belfast. One enters the apartment into a large foyer with plenty of closet space. There is an open living room / dining area downstairs with a large balcony with four chairs and a dining table overlooking downtown Belfast . This is the perfect place to have your coffee and watch our city wake up! A sleek, modern kitchen with a distinctive breakfast bar has all the amenities you will need for cooking or entertaining. We provide a cupboard full of complimentary single serving snacks, both healthy and decadent! There is also usually some pasta and sauce or soup if you arrive late and hungry and ground coffee and tea always always provided. The first floor bedroom faces the harbor and windows have lovely views of the inner harbor. There is a nice balcony off this bedroom for sitting and watching the sun come up or for watching the fireworks during the Celtic Festival. The first floor also has a large and unique slate tiled bathroom just off the hallway, next to the bedroom. This bathroom has copper fixtures and a beautifully tiled, glass door, shower. Upstairs is a large den with pull out Queen sofa bed, and a view to the inner harbor bridge that can't be beat! There is a small black and white tiled bathroom with glass door shower and views all the way to Castine, right off the den. The tower bedroom has views to the East, down Penobscot Bay to Islesboro and beyond. This is the best bedroom for watching the sun rise from your bed. The master suite is next. The most luxurious part of the Ocean House, the master suite has views of the inner harbor and the Armistice Bridge as well as a great view of Main Street and the setting sun to the west. The light-filled suite has King bed with 750 thread count cotton sheets (as do all the beds) and a sitting area with down couch and lounge chairs. Two large lighted closets complete the room. There is a washer /dryer on the second floor and 3 TVs, 3 with 175 channels of DirectTV, and one Smart TV in the master. The apartment has 18 windows and two full light doors out to decks facing East and West for the best in Sunrise and Sunset viewing. The entire apartment is air conditioned and has heat through several heat pump units. Each bedroom controls its own climate. The apartment is decorated in a comfortable, modern, decor peppered with a smattering of antiques. Seth has collected furniture and antiques throughout his career as a museum curator and private art dealer. The loft is full of pieces from this art collection. The apartment is right in downtown Belfast and dining choices abound. Within just several blocks of the apartment are at least 13 restaurants, Shopping is just steps away and one of the best cottage / garden retail store is located in the building, on the floor below the apartment. We are also a block from the" Hills to Sea" trail system, a 47 mile long stretch of trails that run from Belfast to Unity Maine for biking, hiking, walking or running. There is ample parking in our own lot for the loft, with one reserved space in the lot for guests. There is also a growing garden landscape on the property. A private pool on the property is just what is needed for cooling off in the summertime. Private ~yet in-town ~ you can walk to anything in this lovely quaint city. Within a few blocks, you can dine at several wonderful cafes / bakeries and restaurants, grab an ice cream, shop, visit galleries, take in a movie at the local theatre, or watch the action at the town dock. A town park offers free tennis courts, wonderful playground, a pool, and a beach.Waterfront activities: Fishing poles, lifejackets, kayaks on site & ready to go! Very safe boating since the house is located on the inner harbor. Take a boat up into the river or downtown for a refreshment. We have a resident pair of Loons which you can watch as they catch their meals. Eagles and Ospray soar above, competing for fish. Even an occasional seal will pop up. Please remember most of Maine is wilderness with wild life all around. There are insects like mosquitoes and spiders. There are frogs, toads and turtles that call the land their home. Occasionally spiders, mice and bats make their way into the house. We do not intentionally host them so please don’t freak out if you see one. They are harmless creatures. and more.: Picnic on the dock, fields or the gazeebo. Take a nap in the bunkhouse overlooking the water. Check out the pear, apple and peach trees located on the property. Identify the bird calls. There is something for everyone.The Belfast walking/biking trail is located right at the edge of the property. The path takes you north, away from town along the water or south along the water into Belfast center. The convenience of your own path along the water taking you into town is unique. Also located about 100 yards to the north of the main house is also a 1 bedroom plus loft bed, 1.5 bath cottage overlooking the water on the north end of Riverbend. If you have extra company or your family needs more space, this is the place for you. You will never forget your stay at Riverbend Estate.
