Kasbah Tamadot - Sir Richard Branson's Moroccan Retreat

Came back having stayed at Easter 2024. What a transformation so lovely to enjoy the wonderful service and food. The attention to detail of works make new look very established ie you would not know so much has been renovated. The new dining area is stunning. If you want a five star experience defo recommend

I can't recommend this hotel highly enough. A real sanctuary and a wonderful place to relax. The property and grounds are beautiful, with gorgeous gardens and amazing mountain views. We stayed in a lovely Berber Tent with plunge pool looking out over the river valley - beautifully appointed and comfortable, with generous free minibar items, including wine. All of the staff are very friendly and kind and the service is top notch. The food, whether breakfast, lunch or dinner, is fantastic and sufficiently varied for our four night stay. We enjoyed great hammam and massage treatments in the spa, some invigorating 2 hour hikes in the surrounding hills with wonderful views and relaxing by the pool in the sun. Blissful. It's an easy one hour drive from Marrakech and a real haven after the exciting bustle of the city. Very much hope to return!

You can see from the website how beautiful this place is, and the photos do not even do it justice. What you cannot see is the amazing dedication the management had to the staff and the local community in painstakingly restoring the property after the 2023 earthquake, keeping all staff employed while spending milions on the project. The care shows, and is not reflected in the wonderful service provided by the staff.

We loved this place. During our life we have stayed in thousands of hotels and this one is one of the best. First the hotel is laid out beautifully with wonderful views of the mountains .It is built to look like a Kasbah and has interesting and pretty landscaping. There are indoor and outdoor pools and gyms and tennis courts. The pools are both heated . While we were there it was unusually warm so we enjoyed the pool. It was heaven. Service throughout the hotel was outstanding. Every request was quickly addressed. The food varried. Breakfast and lunch were very good. We had 2 dinners and this was our only disappointment. The menu was limited and the food I would call mediocre.There is only one restaurant. I would say staying here should be on your agenda if you come to Morocco. We took the half day tour treaking in the mountains and enjoyed that. There are ample snacks and the whole minibar is free of charge . I liked that there is no nickel and diming here .

A spectacular setting. Staff are delightful and could not be more helpful. Last night Ishmael was really interesting about Berber history as well as being an excellent waiter. Hamid (I hope I have remembered his name correctly) has been especially helpful with breakfast that we like to have sitting in the sun on the terrace of our Berber tent. The mini bar is well stocked, wine, beer and sodas and is included in the price. Spirits are not included in the mini bar, but are available from room service. Downside of our Berber tent: the wall separating the bathroom and sleeping area does not go up to the ceiling, therefore, bathroom pongs can be shared! There is a step up from seating area to sleeping and bathroom areas, tricky to manoeuvre a mid night wee, without disturbing a sleeping partner!! One of the things that attracted us to Tamadot was the small size and the fact that the staff are local Berbers. The site is being developed and we understand that means that they will be getting staff from outside the area. Shame! True luxury is privacy and quiet. Food is good and aimed at the European palate as well as Moroccan tagines etc. The dining room is in a HUGE Berber style tent with fires at each end, and can be chilly, we are here in October. despite the patio type heaters. Stunning views, hospitality and elegance despite ongoing repairs from 2023 earthquake. We were in the berber tents and the luxury is amazing. Peacocks wondering the grounds. Food is exceptional. The spa staff were variable--some amazing and some very average despite the high price of services.
