A signalling cable fault is causing delays between Redhill and Tonbridge

      
      $2. apr. to 2. apr.
      Periode:torsdag, april 2, 2026 to torsdag, april 2, 2026
      Operatører:Southern
Relaterede oplysninger:A fault with the signalling system between Redhill and Tonbridge means trains have to run at reduced speed on the line towards Tonbridge. As a result, trains may be cancelled or delayed by up to 15 minutes. Disruption is expected until 12:00. Customer advice: There will be a reduced service between Redhill and Tonbridge. You should leave an additional 30 minutes to complete your journey, as your train may be cancelled or delayed. Services running from Redhill to Tonbridge will be subject to larger delays. You can still use your normal route, but you should check journey planners before you travel. If you're travelling now, you should check the Southern app and station screens, and listen to announcements for the latest information. Planning your journey: You can view live departure boards and you can use a live map of the network to help plan your journey. You can also use Southern's app to find up-to-date information. Can you tell me more about the incident? Rodents have chewed through a signalling cable in the Nutfield area. The signalling system is "failsafe", so the damage to the cable means that one of the signals in the area is only able to show a red light to drivers. Trains will stop on the approach to the signal, and drivers will get verbal instructions to continue east, which takes longer than normal. Network Rail technicians are investigating and will repair this as soon as possible.
