This booking rate as our most disappointing booking on our 3 weeks 10 cities China trip. Front desk was deserted when we came in after 2pm. A lady came down hurriedly after contacting via WeChat, she immediately asked if we had purchased tickets for Wulingyuan, as well as the optional cable cars and elevator rides. After taking record of our passports, we were led to a room which was only semi cleaned, the lady proceeded to yelled at and berated another cleaning lady for not completing all the cleaning in time. We stood by quietly while the cleaning lady proceeded to clean the bathroom, mopped the floor and the table tops.
We were not told nor given any coupon for the included breakfasts. When we came back the next afternoon and asked the lady about the included breakfasts, she asked jokingly how sad that we had missed our breakfast that morning, she then gave us two cards for breakfast at a small decrepit shop about 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Obviously, we chose to skip breakfast the next day.
We accepted that we get what we paid for, as the price for 2 nights stay were competitive for the location. We were also aware that breakfast was served at a different spot. We are unhappy with the inhospitable attitude and the “you don’t ask you don’t get” approach.
Oh, for the room and the bathroom, as I mentioned, you get what you paid for.
