Tau Game Lodge

We recently stayed at Tau Game Lodge for a family holiday. We had a fantastic experience. we were welcomed by friendly staff and introduced to our lovely guide Lizzy. we saw the Big 5 and Magnificent 7 all up close and personal. i loved the position on the river watching animals come and go and our family chalet was on the water hole too. we had a big storm that filled up the river/watering hole and we saw even more animals wander down for a drink directly from our balcony. the food was amazing. We are both gluten-free, and the chefs made a huge effort to give us so many different choices. the wine list was great too. we were there for New Year's, and they threw a big surprise party. Highly recommend this experience.

Excellent service, attentive staff, best ranger we had (he looked after us very well), food & drink is very good snd sufficient. Very good massages at SPA. The lodge is a luxury class, but there are points deducted for location (garden design, pool design and bathroom. Improvements would be desirable here to justify the price.

It was absolutely a very nice experience. Staff were so friendly and did their best for us. The chalet was perfect for 3 people.

After watching the live feed at Tau for many months at home we finally visited for three nights. The game viewing from our room the family suite was incredible. We saw many elephants,zebras,wildebeest, impala,kudu,warthogs and many more animals right from our lodge. We enjoyed many hours sitting and watching the animals at the waterhole. The management team were excellent and everyone was so friendly. The food was wonderful and the chef made me gluten free food at every meal. Our ranger Herman was very knowledgeable and friendly. We had some incredible sightings and seen so many animals from the big 5, wild dogs,elephants,Impala, giraffe and many more. We saw a pride of lions and a cub on a hunt for wildebeest. Overall excellent. Game viewing and ranger wonderful. Located in lovely spot. overlooking a large water area, so game constantly coming to drink. Staff are well trained and fabulous. Food good and different dinner venues added interest to the stay. Cleanliness and bed excellent. I thought the bathrooms were getting a bit tired.

My Stay at Tau Lodge was wonderful, the staff were respectful and professional. And they accommodated my requests accordingly. The ranger Lazarus was very knowledgeable and did his job perfectly. He had good answers about the animals and history of the game reserve - which was gold for me. Together with Tanya, who was great too, with the role. Poppy also was a darling, she is a good host and makes sure you are taken care of. All round the waiters and waitress were all in smiling and doing their job well. I saw many animals as well, in a short period of time ( 4 nights) that would be difficult to see in some reserves. I saw the Big 4 ( less Leorpard, which proved difficult to see) plus many birds, many antelopes, Hyena, Cheetahs and many more. The food was lovely, and especially on Heritage day where many traditional foods were cooked and some meat over fire. Traditional beers - Umqomboti was lovely.
