Golden Sun Hotel

Absolutely faultless hotel, very beautiful and very well kept. The rooms are small but have everything you need, along with a large balcony and amazing hottub 😁 Just a stones throw from the beach (Where the turtles come to lay their eggs in the early summer), and not far from the main strip with loads of lovely restaurants. We hightly recommend Zakanthi, which was highly recommend by Kelly and stella from the hotel (we have also done a review for that restaurant). The staff were absolutely amazing, lovely people. Kelly, Stella, Maria and Michael were all absolutely fantastic throughout the whole holiday, thank you all, for the good times, memories and most importantly the drinks 😁 Especially the KRAKEN! 😉

We have just returned from a week at the Golden Sun Resort & Spa , which was a really lovely and relaxing holiday. We had a room with a pool and it was like having a villa with the added convenience of a really good breakfast service provided by Maria & Michael. There was a really good choice and it was very well prepared. We found all the staff from reception, cleaners and ground staff to be very polite and we were made to feel welcome by everyone. We will definitely return.

Great location, beautiful clean hotel with great amenities. Very friendly staff. Food ok, not a great selection, but I am a fussy eater. Drinks were poor, nothing tasted right, everything obviously watered down. Even orange juice at breakfast. Self-service soft drinks local varieties, spirits all local. Beer tasted ok but I'm sure it was alcohol free? If you wanted to get tipsy you'd have to drink a swimming pools worth 🤣😂🤣 Rooms comfortable, air con, clean towels, dressing gown and slippers.

Lovely hotel. Great food and wonderful staff made this AI break a fabulous one. The room was serviced every day and was left immaculate. The pool was a little chilly but the beach (2 mins walk) was absolutely beautiful and we spent 2 of our 5 days there. Wonderful sandy beach with shallow water (great for small children). Excellent beach bar too. Fantastic holiday.

Put in the old golden sun hotel dark depressing lift not working another 2 flights of stairs then we got to our room a 4* hotel don't make me laugh was terrible back to reception at the new golden sun to complain and was told you have a bed & a toilet you don't need anything else so take care about booking this hotel oh & the food not good ate out every night.

I visited late October with my husband for a week. We booked last minute and got an excellent deal. The hotel is in an excellent location, really close to a beautiful beach. The staff were really helpful and friendly, rooms were clean (cleaners came in every day) and the facilities were very good. I don't understand people's negative comments about the food. There was a great deal of variety for an all inclusive hotel. I was particularly impressed with the choices- fresh salads every day and a variety of delicious cakes. Never an issue getting sunbeds but beware in October the pool is cold- not much can be done about that however! I would have liked to drink a glass of wine with my evening meal instead of from a plastic beaker but can understand why the hotel might be reluctant to do this. I'd actually give 4.5 stars. A special mention to the bar manager Yannis(?). He was so friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel and don't be put off by some of the negative comments- some people are never happy!
