Details - 29th Jan to 31st Jan 2025; 2 nights for couple; £79; First floor; Room 116; view from window overlooking courtyard of Wetherspoons Postern Gate. Have been so many times to visit York I have lost count so know this place like the back of my hand. Have stayed at this Travelodge before but it was not overlooking the courtyard of Wetherspoons where patrons gather outside. Room was clean and towels provided. Poor quality toilet roll in bathroom. Only the duvet on the bed is provided no spare cover or duvet when extra warmth wanted. Temperature control on old electric heaters appeared unreliable when trying to up by 2 degrees. Plenty of tea/coffee/milk etc available to take at reception if needed. Bathroom flooring vinyl coming away from floor and in corners in places. Seal around the bath/shower needs replacing as poorly done. Images below to show my claim and reported to reception staff. Courtyard outside window - if the patrons are drinking and socialising outside the noise is a lot to cope with so earplugs in my case were not enough. Once bar closed all settled down. Overall this was average quality Travelodge that we are used to nothing special, staff average, not unprofessional but kept contact to a minimum. We always book at off peak times to get the cheaper stays at this Travelodge. TOP TIP - do not book the rooms overlooking the Wetherspoons courtyard (112, 114, 116)
