We had a comfortable stay with a spacious room and great amenities. However, there was a party in the lobby during our stay that made the area quite crowded and noisy. Despite that, we still had a good experience overall and would recommend it for families.

I like location of hotel and room. Room TV has no connection with device facilities so my kid was so boring there. I asked to staff for fix it but they are not able to fix it. Downstairs game area available but Xbox is not working because of subscription.

We booked a family room with 1 child, but when checking in they were not aware we had a child so the room was not prepared. The receptionist said they will send someone up to sort out the sofa bed. We didn’t mind as we will be out for dinner in the city, but when we got back to our room the sofa bed has still not been made. So off I went to the reception to ask another receptionist can they get the sofa bed made. Than this was done promptly but they didn’t bring the extra duvet or pillow. This part has let the hotel down on this occasion, we have not been offered anything free for the inconvenience. Also, if you arrived late in the evening, you will not be able to see the hotel, as they don’t have any light to the hotel name. The design of the room we are in is a bit odd, toilet is separate to the bath room and the toilet is so small you have to squeeze yourself in to be able to close the door. The only best thing that we encounter is the bed, very comfy and big.

This was nice hotel. I'd probably stay there again, but I was annoyed that the gym and pool were dysfunctional during my visit (which was a real let down).

Central location, poor service, poor cleanliness in room, empty bottles of toiletries which staff didn’t bother to replace despite request. Iron in the room broken, again staff didn’t bother to replace despite request. Too much noise in Hotel including night time.

Location was perfect, easy and nice to center. The room was ok,could be cleaner but was ok, The reception was good, The worse point was we couldn't use the wifi for TV, The staff said you can use wifi on TV with HDMI but we don't have any to offer!! So shocked! It was so noisy around until 2, 3 am! Lift was always busy. The pool wasclosed at the time.

Frankly I don’t think it’s worth 300 pounds for 2 nights, I was quite disappointed. 1. The swimming pool couldn’t be used. 2. The elevator door stayed open always even nobody pressed any button outside. 3. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable. There is a gap in the middle. So I wouldn’t recommend any adult to sleep on it.

First of all I need to say that me and my husband often stay in Novotel in different cities and countries and it always was a sinonym of quality for both of us, but in York something went wrong from the very beginning. 1. We have been rejected to add Accor membership account number to our booking once we arrived, even though we booked via Trip.com and it was nowhere to type it while booking 2. Receiptionist asked me about my nationality and when I said that I am Russian,changed her tone of voice and stated that I can speak Russian if I prefer, but she is not going to reply in Russian as it is a principal position, even though it was confirmed she understands it. That was extremely rude and I have never seen anything like that before. Moreover I did never ask this person if I can speak Russian, cause my English is apparently enough to check in to the hotel. 3. We were said we have to book a time slot to have breakfast, but the next day when we arrived to the breakfast room it was almost completely empty. 4. Dirty cups nearby coffee mashine area. 5. Sanitizers left around completely spoiling how breakfast area looks. Overall the hotel looked quite weary. Talking about what went well: charging points by the bed with the usb were handy.
