Holiday Inn Express Williamsburg North

I would choose somewhere else to stay. From the moment we walked in, the smell of pot was overwhelming. When we went to our room, we noticed the shower area was dirty with standing water and near the faucet was mold/mildew. The bed had dried vomit on it. Asked for a different room, was given another one, looked decent enough. Went out to enjoy the historic area and came back into the side door and the smell of pot was overwhelming once more, it was as if people staying were smoking in the hotel it was so strong. Got ready for bed, checked the door and then realized it had damage near the lock. No sleep because I felt unsafe, stayed until sun up and checked out.

Tub had hair in it, sofa was torn, 2 of the chairs were unstable, my son fell out of the chair and hit his arm because the seat was completely broken, told front desk upon checking out and she could care less. Eggs look weird and wet.

The hotel was a bit tricky to find, but parking and check-in were pretty easy. Due to my tier status, I was able to get an upgraded room. The hostess who checked me in was very friendly and helpful. The room was a decent size and well-appointed. The soap dispensers seemed a bit close and bumped into them a few times while I was in the shower. Additionally, the tub nonstick was kinda worn down. The water pressure in the shower was on point. The beds were great, and I wish I could’ve used them more. The plugs and the fridge both worked well. The internet was mostly good unless I was trying to watch an anime. Breakfast was very good, with a decent spread, unfortunately, the pancake machine wasn’t working during my stay. The biscuits and gravy were delicious. Keep in mind that there are no sidewalks around the hotel so you will be either driving to get food or walking in the street. All in all not a bad place to stay.

I wouldn't stay here again. I'm thankful that I had Clorox wipes in my suitcase because I used them a lot. The room just seemed dirty. The tub was chipped, there were stains on the wallpaper, damage to the desk, and the bathroom mirror looked like it came from a garage sale. One of the lamps didn't work at all. There was a refrigerator, but there was no way to adjust the temperature for it. Once I went into my room, I didn't come out because I wasn't sure about how safe I would be. Maybe all of this is normal for a 2-star hotel, but I didn't like it. It certainly wasn't worth the price I paid. I should have paid an extra $30 to stay in a nicer hotel. On the plus side, it had shower curtains (not clear glass doors), and it's really close to Walmart.

This hotel has a two star rating. However, it was a very noteworthy visit overall. The reason for the rating is a problem with a tub which did NOT drain properly. However, the handyman arrived immediately to fix the problem of hair obstructing the drain function. I would recommend that a schedule be set-up to check each room at least once a year. The cleanliness was commendable except for the tub issue. The hotel has had remodeling done and it is a very pleasant place to stay. Of exceptional note is the breakfast. We were there for three days and the food included, real bacon, eggs, sausage and chipped beef on various days. There were plenty of options such as hot oatmeal, bagels, muffins, pancakes, juices, coffee (of course) and yogurt plus fresh fruits. When I asked to talk to the person in charge, I met Maggie. She is the Lone Ranger in this breakfast extravaganza!! Her work ethic is outstanding and she proudly related that she loves her job at this hotel ! And it shows !! I would go back to this Holiday Inn without any reservations!

My room at the end of the hall on the first floor was spacious, very clean, had a microwave and refrigerator, and better lighting than most hotel rooms. The air conditioner was quieter than in most hotel rooms. The bed was very comfortable. The provided toiletries were Dove brand. The free breakfast was well stocked with a variety of choices and had ample seating. It's easy to get to on the north side of Williamsburg.

Not enough towels would not send them to my room saying i had to go down to get some……. nasty breakfast…..however the staff was very nice and the facilities clean and fresh …..price was right but probably would not stay there again unless nothing else was avaiable

This was a very clean hotel a 10-15 minute drive from the colonial area. Staff was all very friendly and everything was clean. Parking was very good and breakfast was very good and kept filled. Pool area was nice but could be a little warmer. We’d stay there again.

This place had very comfy sheets and pillows, I don’t think I’ve ever gone wrong with booking through IHG, but had to stay here last minute because I got chased out of Howard Johnson by the cockroaches in my room. The breakfast is included and tasted as good as any hotel breakfast can! Friendly staff, and good distance from Busch Gardens.
