I arrived on the 12th and immediately found the hotel very thoughtfully designed and presented, even though it is peak off-season. There is always a security person in the booth, an electric gate, and someone at the front desk (which has a bureau de change!). The hotel also gets frequent visits from a local black cat who is very friendly. When we went, it was very quiet; barely any noise at all after 11pm. The pools remained open despite the late season. Staff members with a special mention are Seif and Dodo, who were very warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and went the extra mile to make our stay as pleasant and enjoyable as possible. Almost all staff speak multiple languages well and are happy to talk to guests. There is also a nearby bar (part of the hotel complex) called Zanzibar, with awesome music. Drinks are very affordable and the décor very original.

Wish we had read the reviews before booking… All I will say is do not stay here! We ended up going to a hotel 10 minutes down the road everyday and paying £70 each day per person for a day pass to eat and drink as the food in zodiac is inedible. We don’t have high standards by any means and didn’t expect this to be amazing as it was cheap, but it felt like prison. We couldn’t wait to leave and dreaded going back there each night. The staff are so rude especially the booking manager, the bar men are creepy towards women and the receptionist is just so unhelpful. When we checked in and a grumpy man showed us to our room, he was reluctant to give us our key as he just stood there wanting a tip! Security staff are rude when you come in too and followed us to our room as didn’t believe we were staying there, even though we had wristbands. Plates and cutlery are dirty in the restaurant and food inedible. We tried breakfast one day and did not go back. Flies everywhere on the food. Drinks in the bar are so weak and served in old beaten up bright orange plastic cups even in the inside bar in the evening, felt like a kids club. Hotel corridors are pitch black with no lights, we had to use our phone lights even in the days, and there is a constant smell of sewage round the hotel! Rooms were dirty, had to ask for towels, No coat hangers in the wardrobe, hairdryer did not work properly, back door did not lock, shower and taps thick with limescale, shower bracket broken so must shower holding it, towels had brown marks on them, toilet seat broken, toilet roll as thin as tracing paper, Walls thin so can hear all noise from the corridor, pool water felt dirty and slimy. Also if you do go out of the hotel be careful as streets feel unsafe and men are lurking around that make you feel uneasy. It honestly felt like a prison, the rooms look nothing like the bright clean pictures, I would not recommend or stay here again even if someone paid us!!

Just spent 14 days at the Zodiac hotel, with my daughters & wife. Ok let's start with the good bits. Booking in and the allocation of our room was a breeze. The room itself was spacious, a massive super king-size bed , plus 2 good singles. The maid service was excellent. The not so good side of the room , was the patio doors did close properly. The bathroom door didn't close at all. The shower fixings were missing. The toilet seat was hanging off, the whole room needed an uplift. The outside area and pools, this was definitely the best part of the whole hotel. The waterslides were well supervised when open. All pools were clean , with sufficient sunbeds for all. There were forms of entertainment going on around and in the pools . The entertainment team seemed to work hard most days. The big drawback is that all the entertainment is in french. Which includes the fast majority of music being played by the pools. On to the restaurant, this for me was the biggest disappointment. The food was not great, with very cheap cuts of meat being used . I'm really not a fussy eater, but 90% of the food fell well below the standard expected of a 4* hotel. Another annoying point about the restaurant is everything is served to you , except for the salad bar.all portions are child sizes, it gets a bit tedious asking for more for every item. The cleanliness of the cutlery and crockery left a lot to be desired. But by far the worst thing is the glasses for your drinks. They were chipped and cracked at least one in 4. The only plus were the waiters, very helpful. Onto the staff this was a really mixed bag, somewhere really top class. The other side of this is somewhere, just dam rude. My wife was constantly asked for a tip when she went for a drink. Other stuff you need to know. The beach is a good 10 minutes away from the hotel. Although the zodiac has its own private area, they offer none of the All-Inclusive features i.e. drinks or snacks. Which is an issue because of its location. Finally the snacks offered are only for a couple of hours by the pool area. This consists of crepes and pizza. You are only allowed 2 crepes per person. Also before I forget in the restaurant there are two large signs informing you. That if you waste food you will be charged 20 dinars. Ps the occupancy of the hotel is 95% french.

Just back from two weeks staying at the Zodiac Hotel with my wife and our two daughters (ages 7 and 11), and it was a great time had by all. Booked through Onthebeach, and got a good deal for two weeks flying from Glasgow direct to Enfidha–Hammamet International Airport. The airport was very quick to get through, and the bus transfer from there to Hammamet took probably 45 minutes, with our hotel the second stop. First impressions were ok, and we were checked in to our room in no time, with just a small customs form to fill in, and a £10 tourist tax to pay. Our room was not quote ready so we went to the bar and sat there for 20 minutes before the desk clerk came to tell us it was now ready. Room was a bit dated, but main thing was it was clean, and the maids cleaned it spotlessly every day, so suited our needs. The hotel in itself, inside can feel very dated, with not really all that much in terms of stuff and see and do (saying that, i have probably stayed in more dated hotels in Spain and Cyprus) but main thing is it was clean and staff all speak English. The main plus was the pool area, which was excellent, and we were happy to spend all day here from morning through to 6pm when it closes. Drinks were in good supply, with a mixture of soft drinks, beers and wine's.... but being honest, after 5 days I was pretty much fed up with the beer and was content with lemonade. One thing you will notice though is that the hotel does not really cater as such for British Guests, and while staff all speak English, the entertainment all speak French, and after a few days I started to notice I was getting greeted by the staff with “Cześć” and “Gen Dobry”..... it then clicked that Tunisia seems to get a insane amount of Polish holiday makers, and the staff just assume anyone who does not greet them in French are automatically Polish..... This provided me with some cheap laughs for my Ukrainian Wife :-) So it certainly caters more for French, Algerian and Polish tourists more than Brits, but when the entertainment team discover that you are British, they do go that extra mile to make you welcome and join in. Food was top rate, but I did notice that the second week there did appear to be a massive difference in the quality, and by this point I was content with just a salad. Good advice is to skip the first area of food, and go to the grill on the open terrace, as this is where you can get a good selection of pasta's, grilled meats (Kebabs the first week were excellent, but the second week these did not seem to make an appearance, and it was just sausages most the time), fresh pizza's, chips and occasionally couscous (proper way) and gyros (these were VERY popular, along with a curry pancake dish). Deserts were the big plus, with wonderful ice cream on order that is as good, if not better, than anything I have tried in an Italian restaurant or cafe. For a change of scenery, there is a private hotel beach a 5 minute walk from the hotel, but its not
