Wonderful room with a great view, in the heart of the town right next to the Li River, and this very good restaurant on the rooftop, that serves traditional Chinese/local meals, as well as this super-excellent pizza! And the staff?! The best of all time :)

Western standards, this is not more than a 2 star hotel. Small room and bathroom, only a partial view of the river and mountains, both from the room and roof, and no elevator with 4 floors. We have stayed in several hotels in the Guilin area, choosing those from the middle to the upper end of the price range. The hotel offers a modest room but at a not-so-modest price IMHO. The internet worked okay until about 7PM then went out completely for the remainder of our one day stay. The public areas, front desk, and roof are a little bit disheveled. Photos and descriptions made the accommodations look much better than they really are. The bathroom is so small its almost necessary take a shower while sitting on the toilet. The rooms are small to the point that it was necessary to use a wide angle fish-eye lens to get it all in the frame, especially the bathroom. Two Photos are attached: one illustrates the room and view, the other the size of the bathroom. From my expereince this is a $15 to $20 (US) dollar room.

There were some ants in the room just in bed also. Location is great and staff is helpful. Internet connection was tooooo sloooooow and the terrace view now isn't as good as on photos.

Hostel l’s location is perfect. The terrace is very quiet and nice. The owner spoke very good English which was super helpful to get tips about some hikes around Xingping. Without her help we could have never found the way! She also helped us getting the transportation and tickets to see the sunrise.

The place is good overall, note the single room doesn't have a private bathroom. It wasn't clear in the description.

Such a wonderful place to spend some time in XingPing. The hotel was clean, staff were friendly, polite and always willing to help. There is a restaurant and viewing balcony on the 5th floor. Rating: 5 stars

The location is fantastic, close to the bus station and dock. The owner was English-speaking and very helpful. The rooftop restaurant/lounge was fantastic with wonderful views and there was a great selection on the menu. The food was good and reasonably priced. My only major complaint was lack of storage space in the bedroom. But overall, great value for money and I would definitely stay there again.
