Xianyunju Resort Hotel (Yangshuo 20 yuan Scenic Area Branch)

Outstanding on all aspects!! We loved our time at this lovely hotel on Xingping Island! The owner was so kind. He speaks fluent English. Every morning he arranged activities and provided cultural, historical, and philosophical explanations. One morning we drove us to a more remote area in his car. Another morning he arranged for a small group of us to hike to the top of a peak to watch the sunrise. He made sure we knew about hiking trails that were off-the-beaten-path. We are truly grateful for such a kind host who adopted us and made us feel like family. The restaurant was also outstanding; we ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel because the cooks consistently made the best dishes we have had in our travels in China. Our room had a panoramic view; the bed was comfortable; the towels clean, white, and fresh. It was a perfect stay and we hope to go back next year.

Firstly the location is spectacular, which is the main reason we booked. The view from the room was really beautiful and it was easy enough to get to the old town by boat. Secondly the owner was so lovely and helpful and helped us organise many activities, and even accompanied us on a few. The staff are very responsive and helpful on wechat and helped us organise activities and meals. The dog was also a big highlight for our kids, especially my daughter who even cried about leaving him. The terrace is lovely too and has an amazing view. The meals cooked for us were very nice, and breakfast was adequate. The room is ok, a bit basic but met our needs. The only complaint I have is that the rooms are not sound proof, and therefore you hear every sound in the corridor and stairs. We travelled with young children who go to bed early and they struggled to fall asleep with the noise of kids running, playing and screaming in the hallway. It may not be an issue for those going to sleep later, but for us it was tough. The staff however did respond to our feedback and asked the kids to be quiet, but you do still hear people moving around outside. Overall I would recommend.

The hotel is located in the much quieter fishing village. The ancient town itself is just a short walk and a 2 minute ferry across the river. It took a while to get to due to the narrow mountain roads but the views were excellent. The hotel manager / owner spoke excellent English and was incredibly helpful in giving us travel tips for the area. The communication before hand via wechat was also excellent and they helped to accommodate a vegetarian and gluten free dietary restriction which was really appreciated. The room itself was very large, the bed was super comfortable and the shower was excellent. No complaints at all and would recommend to a friend.

Really great hotel. They upgraded us to have a cute tea and balcony area. The hotel is run by many young and friendly staff. They help ferry you between the ferry and the hotel with their golf carts. Another highlight other than the amazing views is dou bao (their boarder collie dog) who likes to hop on the golf cart and get a ride with you. We got food at the hotel for dinner and breakfast. Decent and homey. We only stayed one day but had a great experience.

Amazing rooftop view!!!!! After staying two days in Yangshuo we decided to switch our hotel to more secluded area to experience the real beauty of karst mountains. We were not disappointed. This hotel is fully surrounded by beautiful mountains. They have their rooftop set up for beautiful sunset and we were able to see so many stars at night. It was truly a relaxing experience. The hotel manager spoke good English. They upgraded our room to a honeymoon suite. What a pleasant surprise! They were also very helpful with planning our activities. We hiked up to Damian mountain one day and enjoyed unforgettable view. Although it was a bit strenuous climbing every step was worth it. The view was sooooo rewarding. Back to hotel, here are some pros and cons of this hotel. PROS: 1. Amazing view. 2. Friendly and helpful staff. 3. Restaurant served delicious food and they were very accommodating to our special diet. CONS: 1. DiDi/Taxi is not available here. Hotel offers free pickup and drop off service to ferry dock (5 minute ride) Pay 5rmb to cross the river (2 minute ride). Get dropped off at ancient town “Xingping.” This town has many restaurants, shops and convenience. It’s quite simple to get to Xingping. People like me don’t mind the inconvenience because we chose to stay at secluded hotel location. 2. Room needs some upgrade with furniture and plumbing. Sofa can use some spotting. Overall we were very satisfied with this hotel and we will definitely return!

Amazing place and great hospitality. The hotel location is perfect if traveling with family. The hotel owners are very helpful for everything that you need. The best experience we’ve had! Great food and a fantastic view!
