Absolutely must stay here if you are visiting the nearby Snow Monkey Park! They have multiple daily shuttles and also have a daily shuttle to the Yokoteyama Shibutoge Ski Resort, where they have weekly snow monster tours! Nearby in Nagano City is Zenkoji temple, which we actually preferred to the Sensoji Temple in Tokyo, as it seemed a little less tourist-y, which less crowds (but a very similar experience!). The onsens are rave-worthy. They have both public and private onsens, and the public has both an indoor and open air onsen. When it is snowing, the open air onsen is such a surreal experience! They are also not from sulfur hot springs, so no funny smell and everything is so clean. Must get the meals if you are staying here! Their kaiseki dinners, which are multi-course dinners that feature local ingredients, are so filling and so delicious. Some of the best meals we had in Japan! Their traditional Japanese breakfasts are also a great way to fuel up for the day. Overall, such an incredible experience staying at this hotel, from the food, to the incredibility hospitality by the staff, to all of the fun things to do around the area!
