We went with Jet2 from Leeds/Bradford for a week. Flights were fine and transfers faultless. St Patricks Hotel in Xlendi is advertised as a 4 star, but in reality is a 3. It's tired decor, ancient lift and unreliable wi-fi tested my patience. Our room (413) had a torn window curtain and damage to the bathroom mirror frame. The hairdryer in the bathroom was innefectual and would have been better in a museum. Channel selection on the TV were limited to about 12. BBC news and Discovery Turbo were the only English channels. The lift broke down on our final day, so we had to use the service lift to get our cases down to reception. But if you press 6 in the lift it takes you to heaven. A rooftop sun-trap with loungers, umbrellas, a plunge pool and bubbling spa, plus the most unbelievable views. The hotel and rooms are clean, the staff hard-working and cheery, the food is good, well-presented and decently priced. The manager is smart, visible and hands-on. What really sells this place is its location. The restaurant has the finest view of Xlendi Bay and on a summers evening it is the finest place to chill with a glass of Maltese Chardonnay. Do try Terrazzo Restaurant, which is a short walk from the hotel. It's a step up in quality with remarkable food and service. And if you ask, yes we would go back.
