The hotel has a great location, close to the Bell Tower and the city wall. The room was spacious, clean. Hot water, heating and wifi worked without problems. Breakfast had a sufficient selection.
However, it was disappointing for us that the hotel refused us a transfer from the airport to the hotel, even though it was included in the room price. They said that we don't speak Chinese! We travel a lot in China and this happened to us for the first time. We communicate with other hotels via Wechat and a translator and there has never been a problem. We just had to write where we would wait for the car, or the driver could have waited for us in the arrivals hall with our name. There are many options, but the hotel refused everything. Our son-in-law, who is Chinese (he was not on the trip with us), communicated with the hotel staff in Chinese, he told them the day before our flight number and the time of our arrival, but despite this, the hotel refused to provide a transfer from the airport! They argued that we had to be able to communicate with the driver in Chinese. So we took a taxi to the hotel, even though the transfer was included in the room price. No one apologized to us after our arrival. We expected the hotel to provide us with a free transfer to the airport instead. They took us to the airport, but we had to pay for the transfer.
