Pros: 1) friendly and accommodating staff; we arrived before the check-in time and the host asked the cleaning lady to clean our room first so that we could check in within 30 mins; the host also helped carry our luggage up to the second floor; the host also recommended restaurants nearby and provided helpful information about what we could see and do around the hotel 2) clean room 3) great location; next to Dayan Pagoda and reconstructed historical park with lots of perofrmances at night and ladies in period costume doing photoshoots; we took taxis to the inner old city of Xi'an for the Bell Tower and Muslim Quarter Cons: 1) room was small 2) sometimes our room smelled of cigarette smoke if someone was smoking outside and our window was open 3) the shower and toilet was in one space, the sink was in the same space as the sleeping area; wet bathrooms are common in China, but if youre not used to it, it could be an adjustment Overall a great choice if you want to be in a lively neighborhood
