*A Wonderful Stay at Xi Yu Hotel* (
** Note: we booked 2 rooms via Trip.com but somehow were separate bookings so this review will probably appear twice as we have to leave a review per booking. But the experience was the same for both of us travelling. **
We had an exceptional experience at the Xi Yu Hotel and can’t thank the amazing staff enough for their hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted with a refreshing drink, setting the tone for a truly memorable stay.
Throughout our visit, the team went above and beyond to help us. Not only did they assist in planning the rest of our time in Xi’an, but they also recommended fantastic local spots, including a brilliant barber shop for a cut and shave, a bustling local market for unique gifts to take home, and even pointed us to a shop where we found a suitcase to carry everything back!
The rooms are spotlessly clean, modern, and feature incredibly comfortable beds—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. We especially loved the rooftop area which is open to guests, a fantastic spot to enjoy a cigar or two, groove some tunes and unwind and watch the city life below.
The hotel’s location is ideal: peaceful, overlooking the city wall, and just a short stroll from the North Gate, where you can easily get tickets to walk along the historic walls.
Best of all, staying at Xi Yu Hotel gave us a five-star experience at a three-star price—truly unbeatable value during our travels across China.
We truly couldn’t recommend Xi Yu Hotel more highly. Our only regret was not being able to stay longer, as our flights home were the next day. We look forward to returning on our next trip to Xi’an!

This is a very mixed review. On one hand, the location was good, right next to the wall and with a 10-minute walk to the metro, and maybe a 20-minute walk to the Drum and Bell Towers. There is also a fantastic park right on the other side of the wall from the hotel. The room was huge and had great facilities. However, the service was pretty bad. The room was kind of cleaned some days, but never properly done, there was no fridge or tea and coffee in the room (even though it is beneath a cafe), and the guy working the desk was either never around or totally disinterested - I think definitely a different person from the ones in other reviews. So parts of it we loved and would recommend, and parts of it were just, well, weird!

The room is clean and modern. The position is a bit far from the city center but close to the train station. The main problem with the room is the shower. The shower has a small exhaust and it was also not cleaned. Plus, the shower's floor is not well isolated. As a consequence, our floor was becoming a swimming pool every time that we were doing a shower.

Nice huge room near Xi’an railway (25 mn walking) and big wall. The room was at level minus 1. Very modern and spacious enough for two, very good mattress and nice bathroom. Excellent service from the little brother and good Illy brand coffee. What I would have appreciate : a teapot with cups inside the room (possibility to ask for hot water at the bar upstairs). Best aerator: smelt tobacco and humidity. Street food in the area but need to walk, not easy for breakfast. These apart we liked the place and really appreciated the good willingness of the staff.

We had a really good stay! Everything was great. There was product against mosquitoes but we personally decided not to use it (as we prefer not to use strong chemicals) but the team was very kind and there for us. Thank you!

一進門就感覺裝修很新，很現代，是我喜歡的樣子，馬桶是智能馬桶，淋浴跟廁所是分開的，地暖，來的時候正好碰上降温，一進屋好温暖，腳底都是熱熱的，電視可以投屏，有浴缸可以泡澡，衞生打掃的也很乾凈，前台態度非常好，有求必應，有問必答，推薦來他家，多住還有優惠
