I know that Covid disrupts traveling and that it can be unpredictable in a sense where rules and requirements may suddenly change. Nevertheless, this does not justify why the hotel wouldn’t inform incoming customers of these requirements. Coming in from an other city, I had been tested for Covid 48 hours prior to arriving in Wuhan. The health authorities had no issues letting me out of the train station. That first night in the city, I stayed elsewhere and when I showed up to the hotel the following day in the middle of the afternoon, I was told that all inbound clients from Changsha need a negative PCR test done within 48 hours. I had that upon arrival, but my PCR test was now 72 hours old. I was told I then needed to go to the nearest hospital for a nee test, I didn’t make it I to my hotel room till 10pm that night. 7 hours spent wandering the streets, waiting for test results for something I could have sorted out faster in my city of residence, had I know of course!
Also, that same night I made it to the hotel, other foreigners checked in and they weren’t asked a single question about their whereabouts, health codes, PCR test, etc. They checked into their rooms within 5 minutes after arrival. Just my luck wasn’t it? Paving the way for others…
