The Fishbourne

Called in drinks after our usual local run at Fishbourne. been there two times this year & yet we never noticed you now had to get a parking permit. This morning I received a parking penalty of £60 or £100 if not paid within 14 days. This should be a visible reminder on tables as with menus & when you visit the bar to order anything! Just another way of trying to trick people into paying for parking even if they purchase drinks or food on the property!! Another customer lost☹️

We went for an evening meal with friends and ordered the lasagne and steak pies. Both were served and were cold !! We sent them back and the pies were reheated. The lasagne came back and this time it was frozen in the middle!!! They took it off the bill but very disappointed ☹️ as I recommended this pub!! We will not be eating here again!!!

Went for a Sunday Roast. Potatoes were inedible. The seasonal veg of Parsnips, carrots and red cabbage was undercooked. The best thing was the cauliflower cheese which came at an additional cost. Pigs in blankets looked and tasted like they had only been shown the oven and taken straight out.The lager was undrinkable. Very disappointed as had booked months ago and was looking forward to it. Could not wait to get away from their sticky tables.

We visited last night for an evening meal, service was friendly and welcoming and the food served hot well presented and was on the table in minutes. It felt like the places has it together, we've had some bad dining experiences on the Island recently and we're pleased to finaly get it right. Well done.

My daughter and I visited for Sunday evening meal on 11/05/2025. Staff were very friendly and happy to look after us. We had the sausage and mash and liver and bacon (which they kindly added peas to). Both were delicious and we both came away with happy full tummies. Would definitely recommend and return

We caught the IOW ferry from Portsmouth on the 8th April at 6pm and thought that we would round of the evening with a nice meal at the Fishbourne - little did we now this would spoil the whole evening - we arrived at just after 6.45pm having booked a table. At 8pm we left the premises having waited for an hour and a quarter for the meal. The staff did not even communicate with us until we asked at 7.45pm where the meal was to be told we are doing our best. A table of six people also left without eating. I have contacted The Fishbourne about this incident and they have not had the decency to reply. We have visited the Fishbourne many time as we visit the IOW regularly, but I can assure you this is the last time. It would have been nice to have received an apology from The Fishbourne the day after the event as they had my wifes email for the booking, but up today we have had no apology or reply to my email - very poor customer care and a another very disgruntled customer
