The Crown

Lovely room with fabulous towels and bed. Very comfortable. Good bathroom marred by bad lighting in it. Menu needs improvement . Not sure what went wrong with breakfast but it seemed impossible to get an order right. Good location in town though our window was the height of passing buses so beware of opening curtains!

Stayed in room 4, bridal room, with my daughter for the eve of her wedding. This room was amazing - so large and roomy with a warm feeling and such a comfortable bed. We had bridesmaids and hair & makeup join us for the morning & the size of room made it so enjoyable. Breakfast delivered was fantastic. The service was impeccable from start to finish, from top level to waiting staff.

What is not to like about this really nice ‘pub with rooms’?! It has incredibly helpful and friendly staff, a pleasant modern decor, albeit in a period building, comfortable and well-appointed bedrooms and decent pub food. Located in the centre of Woodstock, it is well worth considering for a short stay in the area, or overnight en route to further away.

We stayed at the Crown on a visit to Blenheim Palace. A listed building, the crown is more a casual cafe bar than a pub so don’t expect a boozer with rooms! A chilled feel down stairs, open fire at the back with friendly, helpful staff and a nice selection of drinks and cakes, along with breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast was lovely, as vegetarians we could not fault the selection on the breakfast menu. We had booked a room with a roll top bath and open bathroom, on arrival they had kindly upgraded us, however it did not have a bath. After a quick discussion with the manager he kindly upgraded us again to the family suite.. which we absolutely loved and was very much our vintage mash style (even with our own coffee table in the room !) They happily added decaf coffee and oat milk to our room (which has a mini fridge) We were very happy with The crown, it’s not a 5 star establishment so we did not expect that, however watching all the ducks walking about like gangsters made our trip even better! We are used to the New forest; so used to horses and cows roaming round, but roaming ducks was a new one to us.. we loved it.

What a wonderful luxurious room we enjoyed at The Crown - the biggest bed, lux toiletries and a huge tub. Lots of lovely touches in the room, including real tea/coffee and milk! Staff were so helpful, friendly and welcoming. Cocktails expertly mixed, and our meal in the evening was delish, as well as our wonderul breakfast the next morning! Can't wait to return.

Easily located in the town. Ease of checking in , friendly and welcoming staff. Excellent spacious room, clean with good relaxed decor. Good facilities in the room all leading to a positive stay. Could not fault, glad we choose this establishment
