The Blue Horse Inn is the jewel of downtown Woodstock, VT!! Ed and I were so happy to have the Blue Horse Inn as the final stop in the nostalgic New England portion of our month long fiftieth anniversary celebration. It was a very last minute google search to find somewhere to stay for our last two nights after leaving Mount Washington. We had never been to Woodstock before. Jill was so accommodating to make it fit for both nights. And we are so happy she did. The 1831 year old home has been beautifully maintained in a warm (it was chilly in May) and inviting way, with fireplaces throughout the home. They made us feel at home in an easy going way. A beautiful gourmet breakfast - pansies on the plate to boot (a first - and likely last). Those small details made The Blue Horse Inn was the most memorable of our New England adventure. The Blue Horse is a lovely place. I visited just at the end of their terrible week of storms and floods, and the inn was still an elegant and calm refuge. The grounds are beautiful and the beds are divine. Breakfast every morning was delicious, and Jill, the innkeeper, thinks of every detail - down to the BHI umbrellas! - and is easy to communicate with.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary with a 4- night stay at the fabulous Blue Horse Inn. We really cannot recommend this delightful place enough! Jill and Tony’s attention to detail is seen throughout their beautiful Woodstock B&B. You literally couldn’t ask for anything more! Location, comfort, cleanliness, hospitality, staff, amenities, gorgeous gardens, lovely pool, superb breakfast, I could go on! Beautiful, we hope to return very soon.

Simply gorgeous, extremely comfortable, gourmet breakfast, ideally located in the center of town, gracious, hard-working hosts!! Will return! If you're looking for an elegant yet comfortable stay in Woodstock, this is the ideal location.

Everything about our stay was PERFECT! Jill and Tony are wonderful. Our room was beautiful, breakfasts were excellent, and we loved the entire Inn. The Inn is walking distance to all the shops in town, which is very convenient. Grab a homeade cookie (set out every afternoon) and sit on the back porch overlooking the beautifully manicured lawn. Looking forward to going back!!

Our stay at The Blue Horse Inn was absolutely perfect. The owners, Tony and Jill are very kind and welcoming. The inn is beautiful and clean. The grounds are gorgeous, and overlook the river. We enjoyed swimming in the pool, and relaxing by the river. Jill’s 3-course breakfasts are delicious! They are the best breakfasts we’ve ever eaten! The Blue Horse Inn is right in town, making it easy to walk to all of the shops and restaurants. We would recommend The Blue Horse Inn to anyone who wishes to stay in Woodstock, Vermont!

Here are just a few reasons the Blue Horse Inn is so very wonderful: Jill’s background as a high school English teacher reveals itself in the lovely, understated, calming interior design. And there are shelves of lovely art books to browse. Strawberry soup garnished with yogurt and mint is just one of the unusual dishes I enjoyed as one of the delicious breakfasts served each morning Also. If you love bacon, this is some very serious bacon! The wide expanse of green lawn edged with lovely plantings, and a curvy pool surrounded by comfy reclining chairs and a string of lights at night The opportunity to sit in an Adirondack chair and read a book while the river flows gently by Honestly, who doesn’t have the fantasy of living in a historic brick and clapboard house with a white picket fence at the edge of the quaintest of New England villages--but with shopping and good restaurants Jill and Tony make it possible to live the dream by taking care of everything for you in a very relaxed understated way. Reader, I stayed an extra night!

We enjoyed every aspect of our stay - the room was spacious, well lit, and comfortable. The grounds were pristine and very peaceful - we were able to relax sitting on the back porch and by the pool. The breakfast options were varied, well-prepared and filling. The service was friendly and attentive, and the location of the inn was ideal. We'll definitely be booking future stays here.

Jill and Tony are most gracious hosts and have such a beautiful property. The Blue Horse Inn is quintessential Woodstock and a wonderful place to stay. The breakfasts are delicious, and the grounds immaculate. It’s such a peaceful and relaxing place. The location is great because it’s a short walk into town and just off the main road. We stayed in the pet friendly room and they treated our pup so well! We highly recommend The Blue Horse Inn and would absolutely stay here again!
