I’d love to spend the night here but on this occasion I visited for coffee after visiting a little cinema nearby. We just had coffee but there was so much to see in this historic and elegant hotel. This was once the home of 617 Squadron and the Dambusters, hence the many photographs in the bar about that era. The gardens are lovely and I’d imagine this is a great venue for special occasions. Can’t wait to return as Woodall Spa is a beautiful little town.

A truly unique and beautiful hotel set in gorgeous grounds. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The meals lovely and beautifully presented. The hotel is unique because the Dambusters were staying there during World War 2, with lots of history about the squadron and Guy Gibson.

Nice room very comfortable four poster bed, nice view over the gardens. But would eat elsewhere if I visited again, very disappointed with our anniversary meal it rather spoilt our stay, the restaurant manager was not too pleased that we complained

We arrived home today after an exceptional two day break at The Petwood. Check-in was easy with pleasant receptionists dealing with our booking. Our room was well equipped with all we needed. Evening meals were delicious, with exceptional service , especially Karen, who remembered us from previous visits . Breakfast was good with a great choice of hot and cold options. I must mention the pleasant ladies of housekeeping, always a pleasant good morning from them. Checkout was easy , with , again, pleasant Receptionists. We will return in the future

5 Big Shiny Gold Stars all the way. Amazing hotel, spotless grounds, clean rooms, polite staff, lots of parking, great food and nothing is too much trouble. All of that and preserving our heritage too. Already planning my next trip. Tip for hotel management - Change nothing, its perfect!

Had a voucher for Sunday lunch and decided to add an overnight stay. From telephone booking to checking out the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was spotlessly clean, comfortable room. Excellent food both Sunday lunch and breakfast next day.

Fabulous stay! We had a fantastic time at the Petwood! The room was very spacious, bed and linens extremely comfortable. The meals and menus were perfect with choices for me ( gluten intolerance) and the staff could not have been nicer and attentive! The history of the hotel is amazing, the grounds are spectacular and we will be back for another lovely stay! Thank you!!

Our first stay and hopefully not our last. We thoroughly enjoy our 2 night visit and anticipate returning. A wonderful building, steeped in history and extremely comfortable. But it is more than the building that makes a great occasion. The staff were attentive, helpful and an absolute delight. They looked after us with great aplomb and are to be commended. The singular disappointment was the intermittent and at times non-existent wifi; but this proved to be a minor inconvenience.
