Originally built in 1905, and surrounded by 30 acres of beautiful gardens, this former country house offers free Wi-Fi, free car parking, and log fires in the drawing room. It features a beauty and wellbeing studio, restaurant, terrace bar, as well as conference and banqueting facilities.

When I think about the amount of money we have spent here, today made me realise what fundamental and basic management panache is missing. So it's VE 80 event. Absolutely rammed and in anticipation of this, do management open up the function room bar, which is way bigger? No, instead, fools like me queued for 35 minutes at the insufficient small bar which acts as front of house. I scolded my finger because the coffee area isn't big enough to house trays. I had to carry my alcohol over to the tray after coffee had been added and the tray toppled over. Its a good job those poor young bar staff are professional in the absence of invisible weak management. You really need a wake up call after today because everyone in that queue was shocked that you hadn't anticipated and managed the logistics of such a large event.

The hotel is lovely with fantastic grounds to walk on. It is blessed with many WW2 memorabilia of the 617 squadron displayed in the original Squadron bar. The hotel was extremely clean and comfortable. The food was of exceptional quality, the staff friendly, a special mention of John the duty manager who was wonderful. We loved the place and will be returning.

Stayed here a few times now.we love the ambience of the place and it is steeped in history.the gardens are beautiful.the food is wonderful and the staff are so helpful and smiley. The rooms are comfortable and have all you need for a lovely stay.

I’d love to spend the night here but on this occasion I visited for coffee after visiting a little cinema nearby. We just had coffee but there was so much to see in this historic and elegant hotel. This was once the home of 617 Squadron and the Dambusters, hence the many photographs in the bar about that era. The gardens are lovely and I’d imagine this is a great venue for special occasions. Can’t wait to return as Woodall Spa is a beautiful little town.

A truly unique and beautiful hotel set in gorgeous grounds. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The meals lovely and beautifully presented. The hotel is unique because the Dambusters were staying there during World War 2, with lots of history about the squadron and Guy Gibson.

I have visited the Petwood before, but his is our first stay. I suspect it will not be the last. Everything about the Petwood is welcoming. The staff were all really friendly and helpful, our room was a large one with a four poster. The plumbing was ancient but that is an attraction, as the hotel oozes history, particularly relating to the wartime RAF; my interest. The quality of the food was outstanding and I said I said so. The hotel location is superb and the gardens are a delight. Overall we loved our visit. We thought it was good value and a good choice.

I recently held my 60th birthday party at the Petwood. From start to finish it has been a fantastic experience. From making the arrangements and the ease of preparing and planning the event to the evening itself which could not have been any better. Special mention to Karen who was in charge on the night itself and was amazing. No hesitation in recommending the venue for anyone’s special do.

We had a night here and would highly recommend it if you like traditional hotels - the staff were very friendly and accommodating- we have dietary requirements and were well catered for. The gardens and grounds are stunning and it's a short walk through woods to Woodhall Spa

We stayed at the Petwood hotel for 2 nights for our son's wedding. The hotel is beautiful, set in picturesque surroundings. The staff were all lovely and polite and couldn't do enough for you. The wedding was lovely and the food was amazing, well done to the chef. Would stay again or just pop in for a meal and a walk around the beautiful gardens.
