I am currently staying at the Embassy Suites Wilmington and I noticed a $250 charge to my Amex, followed up by an email from the front desk “manager”, Patrick. We are travelling with our pet, and chose the embassy suites as a pet friendly option. We left our dog, Charlie, in his crate in our room, whilst having dinner at 17:30. Apparently, guests made complaints about our dog barking, and Patrick tried to contact me. I received no phone call, but an email at 18:15 stating the charge had been applied. We checked in using the digital card, and signed no terms and conditions specifying a $250 “pet disturbance fee”. Per the embassy suites Wilmington website, the pet policy discloses a $75 deposit, but no “pet disturbance fee”. This is very disappointing to have a charge on my Amex for which I was not made aware. I would prefer staying at hotels that are upfront with their charges. Guests beware!
