DoubleTree by Hilton Wilmington

Great experience here. From the staff to the rooms everything was great. Dinner was fantastic and the bar was lively and fun all the way till closing time. Met a lot of people from all over and we laughed for hours. Haven’t had an experience like that in a long time. Paying for parking doesn’t really bother me as it’s expected when coming to bigger cities. Other reviewers mentioned no hot water, I had no issue with this. I liked that the shower head was moveable. Bathrooms were spotless. The housekeeping team here does an exceptional job. Didn’t notice anything under renovation besides the indoor pool. But after asking about the history of this hotel, seems like they built everything from the ground up here and as everyone knows, contractors work on their own timelines. I did have to do a quick load of laundry as we’ve been traveling for a while. Loved that you didn’t need quarters for the machines and could just use your card. The machines were brand new front loaders. AC was cold. Rooms were quiet. Beds were great. Decor was fresh and modern. Didn’t hear anything all night. Logged into Netflix on the TV and watched the new Happy Gilmore movie. Courtney in the restaurant and Austin at the front desk are stellar!

The newly renovated hotel is beautiful, sparkling clean and fresh. That alone doesn’t make a hotel. It sets the stage. At this hotel, the staff makes it. Everyone is friendly and helpful. That includes everyone! From the desk staff to Starbucks and even the GM who held an elevator for us. I travel regularly for work and am loyal to Hilton Brand. This is the nicest Doubletree I’ve stayed at because of the staff and enhanced by the fresh update. Stay here.
