Star-Apart Hansa Hotel

My Wiesbaden-based employer chose this hotel for me, for a recent (January 2025) stay for business meetings and I loved it! For most US-travelers, you may find the rooms a bit small but honestly, it's the perfect size with the perfect combinations of offerings (your own single-serve latte/espresso machine, large screen, extremely comfortable bed, great bathroom facilities, etc.). I loved my stay here. The staff, as with most places in Wiesbaden speak great English when you can't remember your German ;-) and they're very welcoming and accommodating. I love that they offer - and encourage! - the ability to NOT have your room cleaned every day...saves on resources and time for both parties involved. I was able to spread out and not have to worry about the staff needing to clean around my stuff, and it's a waste of resources to do so. HIGHLY recommend this place. My only "rub" and not sure it's every room, but because I'm sure the bathrooms were updated somewhat recently, there's a step up into them. They do have a sign on the bathroom door, but until you're used to it, you may be like me that rammed my toes into the step and broke one of my toes...oh well, "user error" ;-) Love this place and hope to come back on my next visit. Close to the train station, and to the extensive walking mall and many restaurants and shops.

These people are mere criminals. Our office manager accidentally booked this hotel in the wrong city. Paid 2000 euros in advance. She cancelled in time, but due to the ‘special rates’ the reservation cannot be cancelled. They just took our money while we did not use the reservation and even admitted they booked the rooms for other people.

I still remember the very welcoming staff! The Golden Age of Hollywood theme worked well, subtle and classy, not gaudy, just right. High ceilings, huge bathroom, all the modern amenities, comfortable bed. Clean, fresh, quiet. Overall very good feel. And the breakfast was very good too. One nice surprise was that the fully stocked minibar drinks and snacks were all complimentary.

We were here at the Star Hansa a total of 12 nights for pleasure and business. Our room was a small suite with a microwave, fridge, breakfast table/work area, and sofa, as well as a super-comfy bed. Two lovely windows that open with sheers and curtains for privacy/light control. Ensuite bath was beautiful and updated. For our longer stay, it was the perfect room for us. On a busy intersection, we never heard anything at night to disrupt our sleep. Very conveniently located to the pedestrian-only shopping area and the sites of old Wiesbaden. Beautiful parks nearby and only a 10 minute walk to the train station. Easy access to bus-stops, many grocery stores, bakeries and ice cream on every corner. Our room was kept up beautifully. The most friendly staff anyone could ask for! I must call out especially Ms. Selam Mengstab who took such good care of us from the beginning and patiently helped me practice my elementary German! Some parking on site at $15 per day, but it is not guaranteed, as it is a small lot, being in town. There are a couple of parking garages within 10 minutes or so if needed, and street parking as well. Highly recommended, would stay again in a heartbeat.

Pleasant staff, good location, good breakfast. On arrival we were faced with a flight of steps up to the main entrance. Negotiating these with a large, heavy suitcase was hard. We later found out that there was a ramp at the side of the hotel that we could have used. It would have been nice to have a sign by the steps to direct guests to the ramp. Even inside the hotel there were steps to negotiate before reaching the lift and then more steps from the lift our room. Toilet was so close to the over-bath shower and screen that it was difficult to get in and out of the bath.

This hotel is well situated at the edge of the city center at walking distance from the train station and there is a parking at the hotel (through a rather narrow gate) and close by at the Luisenplatz garage. A busy road passes the hotel but sound isolation is excellent and the road quietens down at night. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good with eggs made to order. We had a Superior Double Room which was well worth the extra with a nice couch and general spacious layout. Also a coffee machine and free minibar. The only thing that could use improvement is the shower, which was of the stand inside the bath type. I would choose this hotel again!
