Bayview Valley Lodge is a superb inn in a glorious location. The views from the outdoor hot tub are wonderful and the night skies were amazing. Our suite was large with a fabulous bed and lovely linens. The bathroom was large and has lovely soaps, shampoos and conditioner. Our host David is committed to providing a wide range of excellent services to ensure that each guest has the most lovely time. He is knowledgeable and readily shares his recommendations for outings, beaches and restaurants in the area. David is a wonderful chef and the breakfasts served were delicious, nutritious and so well plated. We had a magnificent dinner at The Lodge which David prepared and made the choices for wine pairings as well. David is passionate about The Lodge and his pride is very evident. Our stay was so memorable and we would not hesitate to recommend Bayview Valley Lodge - it is not to be missed!

From the moment I arrived David was an amazing host and just makes you feel like you’re at home in the slice of paradise . When you wake up in the morning and open the curtains and enjoy you cup of tea in bed looking out to sea with the most stunning sun rise you actually think you’re in heaven. Thank you so much David and keep up the amazing service you give to your guests

We have just departed from Bayview Valley Lodge after a perfect 5 night stay. It was a wonderful start to our honeymoon and we absolutely loved the beautiful views, personal touches, delightful meals and comfortable accommodation on offer. Thank you to David for your kindness and looking after us so attentively, we have never felt more calm, relaxed and rested. It was everything we needed and more. The spa pool was an added bonus and certainly needed after exploring and driving around the beautiful areas during the day. This place is a piece of heaven in such a beautiful part of the world and would reccomend to anyone looking to visit New Zealand for pure luxury and excellent hospitality.

If I could give this an 11 out of 5 I certainly would do! We flew into Auckland and after a very long 25 hour flight we decided to head straight to Whitianga. We called the lodge in advance to say we were on our way. After a spectacular drive we arrive a little tired and rough around the edges. This being our honeymoon David our host knew exactly what to do and served us ice cold champagne and fresh fruit. A quick shower and change into our swimming gear and we started off in the hot tub. The room was brilliant! We had our own living room and separate bathroom all in the same apartment. This made us feel that we could pull away from the main house and relax in another wing but we really didn’t need too. The view was mesmerising, the photos really don’t do it justice. David is not just a spectacular host but has a huge knowledge for the area and NZ. Thank you so much! You made our 5 days in Whitianga more than perfect ! To any who want to stay here. My Wife and I really could not recommend this enough!

Wonderful place to stay, comfortabel, clean, tastefully furnished. David is an attentive but not intrusive host, who makes you feel welcome. In the morning he serves you a delicious breakfast for a good start into the day. And in the evening you can relax with a glass of wine having a spectacular view over the bay either from the hot tub, the terrace or your living room. My son and me enjoyed our stay very much, unfortunately Germany is too far away to come more often. Thanks a lot !

Our host at Bayview Valley Lodge, David Hall, pays attention to every detail to make his visitors feel welcome, valued, and special. This home is set on a beautiful hillside with painting-quality views of Whitianga Bay. There is also lots to do in the area such as beautiful forest walks with waterfalls, lovely beaches, special boat rides, a town with great restaurants to name a few. David cooked a special birthday meal for me, he is an extremely good chef. I cannot recommend this Lodge enough and I’m so glad to have stayed there.

Lovely B&B with an awesome view. The owner David went out of his way to make sure we had a great stay. A lot of nice touch, great amenities and delicious breakfast and coffee. Everything was thoughtfully provided to make sure we had a nice and unforgettable experience.

David was the best host we've ever encountered. Extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and will go out of his way to get us what we need and make us feel at home. His home cooked breakfast is also top notch. The views from the lodge is also spectacular. We would definitely recommend staying here if you're ever in the Coromandel area.

This place is absolutely amazing! It is situated in a stunning location, that will take your breath away. The views are unreal and the accommodation is definitely up there with the best we have stayed at (we've travelled a fair bit). To top it off, is the host David, who had gone out of his way to help me make our 28th anniversary more special, by arranging a nice little gift for my wife. He was welcoming and a wealth of knowledge, not only about Whitianga but New Zealand as a whole, which we found invaluable. Nothing was too much for him in order to make our stay the best. A delicious breakfast is served each morning, with homemade bread to die for. The town is a short drive away, with plenty of lovely bars, restaurants shops and activities. Definitely a little slice of heaven.
