We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this charming, well-appointed country hotel. Lots of character and attentive staff made our stay memorable. While the hotel is not without some operational issues, the staff were very professional and helpful in resolving some missteps. There are some lovely garden areas to wander around and various cosy interiors to settle into to read a book or enjoy a drink and some very inventive cuisine: The breakfast was outstanding and dinner was surprising, creative and, most of all, delicious. Had a lot of fun with other guests especially when the hotel alarm was set off due to a leak in the building, which wasn't too surprising given the rain. Cosiness, comfort and character ruled the day, however, and the management went all out to make sure we were happy.

We went for a late lunch - and it was just poor and a long time coming. The bread for the sandwiches was of a low quality, cold and stale. We never met the manager though they did remove some of the cost. It seems such a shame that the food doesn’t live up to the attractiveness of the setting.

Do not eat at the hotel, it is a rip off- high prices for miserable size portions. Starter was served in a way oversized dish, with a tiny drop at the bottom. Main, a risotto, was undersized and unexceptional. All in all a very disappointing experience and absolutely not worth the charge.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Hare and Hounds Inn at Westonbirt (near Tetbury). The In. Is an amazing place, it is the perfect place to stay. Close to Tetbury to experience small town Cotswolds living - without the crowds of tourists of other Cotswolds towns. If you want a beautiful, classy, well run facitlity, run by real people who sincerely care about your comfort stay at the Hare and Hound. BTW, breakfast and dinner are wonderful!

Very fine old Gothic revival hotel and pub on the Bristol-Tetbury road. Pleasant, civilised place for a meal. We enjoyed lunch of pea and ricotta soup, a tomato toasted sandwich and roast beef chips. With sparkling water, the bill came to £37 for two.

Enjoyable 2 night stay. We had a superior double room facing the road with a lovely view across the fields. The room was very comfortable and yes it faced the road and you could hear cars passing but this is not a hotel on a country estate. I slept fine. Bathroom was a bit tired and could do with freshening up but the price was fair. Very relaxing environment and perfect for a mini-break in the Cotswolds.

I could not believe the bedding the hotel provided. The sheets are old and needed replacing, the bedding was so bad I couldn’t describe it. Worn and washed about a million times. The pillows were terrible and must be about 20 years old, and were the pillow cases that are meant for super king pillows. I was horrified in the morning to have noticed that I slept in a pillow with no pillow protector - absolutely gross!! Plenty of clean towels were provided, but the shower was dirty with mould, and dirty grout, this is not acceptable.!!!! You need to clean your grout !!! Onto the good points , the staff were lovely, and the wood burners were very welcoming , the food was mideocre, the steak was tough, the breakfast sausage was horrible, but the coffee was hot, but the plates were cold . I could have overlook d a few issues, but the bedding was unacceptable!!

Extremely comfortable hotel with excellent staff. The inclusive breakfast was superb with a selection of fruit, yoghurt & pastries followed by a variety of cooked breakfasts. The staff couldn't do enough to oblige & we really look forward to visiting again.

The whole experience was excellent - efficient, warm and friendly. We stayed in one of the cottages, with parking nearby, which suited our needs. The staff were welcoming from reception, with special mention of Billy, to restaurant and bar staff. We are so glad we chose to stay there and hope to go again in the future.

I cannot praise the staff at this hotel enough , they were very friendly and well-dressed, the restaurant food was excellent, the rooms were airy and the reception was most welcoming. the hotel grounds were looked after and it was a pleasure to sit in the gardens. listening to the birds.

Stayed 2 nights while visiting Highgrove. My fault requesting a high room. Got one but the road noise was too much, and the room and bathroom was not 4 star. Requested a change of room, so room 4 was superb, and much appreciated, and also included a bath. All the staff were lovely. We would recommend to all, but to choose a room suited to your attitude to traffic noise.

Visited today for lunch on our way to Tetbury. I don’t mind paying however this was not value for money I had the miso chicken. My god I’ve seen children’s meals with larger portions. Two small slices of chick en and a small spoon of mashed potato. My fiend had the burger. We had one glass of coke and two coffees between us and the bill came to £72. I could not believe the audacity to charge £7 service when I had to queue at the bar to pay. Would not recommend the food, it wasn’t anything special and certainly not with £72. Came away feeling ripped off. Will not go there again.

We stayed in a Silkwood Double room on this occasion. The room itself was very good, except for a couple of small issues with the bathroom. The bathroom mirror is set very far back from the front of the sink, so if you need the mirror for brushing teeth, tweezing eyebrows, shaving or applying makeup, it's just something to be aware of. Also, the shower had a fixed overhead shower head - no shower attachment. Not ideal if you don't want to wash your hair every time! However, the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet and clean. The coffee machine and good quality toiletries were a nice touch. We ate in the Beaufort Restaurant on our first evening, then Jack Hare's Bar on the second night. The food is excellent, and the fish & chips with minted peas is absolutely spectacular. (Also, the vegan breakfast is the best I've ever had.) Phenomenal selection of wines at dinner time! Gin & tonic is extremely expensive so we decided to just drink beer & wine on this occasion. We had very good service in both the bar and the restaurant. The grounds and well-tended gardens are idyllic spaces in which to enjoy some peace & quiet, and we'll stay at H&H again.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel. The service was excellent from the breakfast to the lunch in the pub to dinner in the Beaufort room. The food and beer were delicious and the ambiance very cozy and welcoming. We had a nice, comfortable room as well.
