At first, I really liked the hotel. Decent exercise room, pool, and hot tub. I picked this place because of the beautiful outdoor patio. Plenty of soft seating, nice fire pit, clean, etc. When I arrived I was surprised to see 3 very large, long haired cats sitting on the seats. The next day as went to work I saw that there is actually an entire cat sanctuary right in the seating area! Complete with condo type housing, plates full of wet, disgusting looking food, etc. When I asked the front desk whose idea it was to have a cat sanctuary in the middle of their outdoor seating, it became obvious it was hers (manager?). Sob story about how the cats were born near the hotel and she didn't want them to be euthanized, and she is not allowed to bring 9 cats home with her dogs.... .so she thought it better to assume guests would be fine with it and ruin their beautiful patio (IMO). I expressed my frustration that I came to this hotel for the patio, have no issues with cats, but I am allergic and don't necessarily want to be forced to be around them, and will not be back. She very rudely snapped back making it clear which she feels is more important. I mean, why not just have all of this on the side of the hotel? Why does it need to be smack dab at the front door, in the middle of the only outdoor seating by the firepit where noone has the choice? You either love my cats, or go away? Terribly strange for a hotel. Like I said, I won't be back which is a shame because I will spending a LOT of time in this area for work over the next several months.
