A big thank you to Jodie and her family for a wonderful stay. Lydford House is one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in for a long time—beautifully decorated with stunning flowers throughout. The roaring fires and Jodie’s friendly hospitality made our visit even more enjoyable. Breakfast was excellent—we highly recommend the eggs Florentine, made with eggs from Jodie’s own hens. My wife had the vegetarian breakfast, and the vegan sausages were particularly good. Set in a stunning Dartmoor location, it’s a perfect place to relax. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you!

What a gem to discover. Lovely house. Lovely proprietor. Perfect base from which to explore Dartmoor. Our room was exceptionally comfortable and the breakfast was superb. My wife asked if we could stay one more night and there can be no higher recommendation than that!

My room was perfect and I had a great nights sleep! Beautiful decor in every room and gorgeous breakfast set up! The food was fabulous. Definitely will be going back and recommend if you’re looking for somewhere to stay in that area!

Lydford House is a beautiful, warm and welcoming space. I loved my stay there and can’t wait to go back. The bed was extremely comfortable and my room was tastefully decorated with a large ensuite bathroom. I opted for the Full English Breakfast and it didn’t disappoint. I finished with toast and honey from their own hives, it was a really lovely touch. Can highly recommend, will definitely return.

Excellent well furnished spacious room, good public lounge and comfy bed and top notch modern en suite fittings. Excellent breakfast menu, if (rightly) slightly limited. Beautiful Victorian gardens. No restaurant but small bar facilities and very decent pubs nearby. Energetic cockerel adjacent! Only downside, lots of stairs awkward for the less nimble. Would heartily recommend.

wow! what can i stay my finance surprised me with a visit to Dartmoor for the weekend i have never been in my life it was beautiful the hotel is stunning the rooms are like mini flats very homly we stayed in the widgery room absolutely beautiful views highly recommend and we was the only two people there this weekend! will definitely be returning very soon🙂

I stayed here with my dog and two children for a short walking break. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts and the breakfast was excellent. My daughter fell in love with the decor and it is clear that a lot of work has been done by the owners to create the appropriate feel for a building of this nature. The room was spacious with a large en suite bathroom and there is also a lovely garden too. For a quick trip for the dog in the morning or evening the Granite Way is nearby. Two good pubs in the locality too. Thoroughly recommended.

We stayed here for four nights.Room was lovely, clean, peaceful and well appointed. Bed was super comfy and Bathroom had everything you could need. Breakfast was wonderful with extra touches like honey fresh from the comb, fresh fruit and eggs from the owners chickens. Owners were helpful and unobtrusive. Location wonderful for exploring. Would definitely recommend a stay

We stayed 3 nights and throughly enjoyed it. It’s a small but beautiful hotel in a wonderful location. Our dogs were most welcome too. Lovely room, great facilities and run by a lovely couple. It’s quiet and relaxing, but don’t expect fancy facilities like a spa, gym or swimming pool. But do enjoy the lovely lounge, beautiful garden and direct access to the Granite trail. Great if you want to cycle traffic free to Okehamoton.
