Maximilian Hotel & Apartments Weil am Rhein / Basel

Not a good experience. Felt like my belongings were not safe, my purse was handed in by house keeping with €150 cash taken from it. Reception were not helpful very passive I felt. Suspicious of this. At breakfast we were rushed by staff also. Not good, will not be returning.

Arrived at 4:30 am and Zain the night receptionist was very helpful indeed. Great to have easy access parking. Hotel not well sign posted. Look for Best Western as in same building.Clean and comfortable room. Relaxed and ready for onward journey.

It was terrible actually. The room was super hot and we considered moving to another hotel in the middle of the night. It was because our little kids fell asleep finally (but woke up a couple of times bc of the heat) that made us decide to leave it as it was. No airco does not mean that you can leave your guests like this, with some cheap ass ventilators. This is not even close to bare minimum requirements. For elderly and little children it’s dangerous. Guys, we are in Europe and it’s 2023. And yes we gave the feedback on the spot several times and the solution offered: We received the key from another room to try but it was the same. In the morning the shift manager told us that this is Germany in the summer without airco. Very below standard. Oh yes, we received free breakfast as compensation. - also in the bathroom the sink only had very hot water. To brush your teeth or wash hands you needed to use the shower. - when flushing the toilet you get a shower for free - window opens in a dangerous way with having little children with you and being on the 6th floor. Strange. Super weird and exhausting experience and even for 1 night, please scroll further and look for an alternative hotel. Sorry for the operational staff as they don’t have the power to influence or control any of this. But please improve your sh*t or shut this circus down.

We stayed where as a pass-over hotel. We had the three persons room. The room had no air condition and the temperature was that of a sauna. Not very pleasant to sleep in with a long journey ahead. Couldn’t sleep at all. The bed was on one side against the wall. And the bed was narrow. The hotel is inside a shopping mall. It felt creepy. The reception is on the 6th floor. Our rooms were on the 5th floor. There is just a small elevator going up. It is difficult to find, the first time, after you enter the parking area. There is no unloading area, so after parking you have to walk to the hotel enterende. But there is no side walk, making it a bit unsafe. The only up side to the hotel is free parking.

Einfaches Hotel, gehört zum Best Western. Die Rezeption für beide Hotels befindet sich im 6. OG des Rheincenters, ebenso das Best Western. Das Hotel Maximilian ist dann im 5. OG untergebracht. Wir mussten sehr lange beim Einchecken warten, obwohl es 3 Schalter gab und nur 2 Personen vor uns waren. Diese hatten extrem viele Sonderwünsche und die Mitarbeiter gingen zwischendurch noch laufend ans Telefon. Der 3. Mitarbeiter starrte intensiv auf seinen Monitor und tat so als ob er die sich aufbauende Warteschlange nicht bemerkte. Unser Zimmer war sehr einfach aber sauber, kleine Küchenzeile im Zimmer und der Ausblick geht auf das Dach vom Rheincenter. War aber ok für eine Nacht. Wir waren eine Nacht da, weil wir am nächsten Morgen einen sehr frühen Flug vom Basler Flughafen hatten. Umsonst Parken kann man im 6. OG des Parkhauses, muss dann allerdings mit dem Aufzug runter und dann den Hoteleingang finden. Da geht es wieder hoch in den 6. Flur. Das Best Western ist ausgeschildert, das Hotel Maximilian nicht, muss man wissen, dass es dieselbe Rezeption hat. Der Aufzug zur Rezeption ist unendlich langsam. Die Einfahrt ins Parkhaus ist auch nicht ganz einfach zu finden, je nachdem aus welcher Richtung man kommt. Vom Restaurant hat man von der Terrasse einen schönen Blick, Preise sind sehr gehoben. Frühstück hatten wir nicht.

Ein toller Aufenthalt, Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Das Einchecken wurde durch den Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich und lustig gestaltet und auch noch spät Abends könnten wir an der Bar alles bestellen, was wir wollten. Sehr sehr toll.
