My family stayed here for one night last week. At 115 am, the smoke alarm went off. There was no smoke so I reset it. It continued to go off so I tried to use the room phone to call the front desk but the phone didn’t function. I ended up detaching the smoke alarm and putting it in our car so that we could sleep (not well) from about 4-7 am. I’ve called 3-4x since we left and can’t get a return call. I don’t think they care. It’s a shame because the cabin is really nice and the breakfast at the local lodge was great.

We have stayed in many great hotels and some not-so-great ones too. This was really charming, cozy, comfortable, adequately appointed, convenient, and overall excellent. Highly recommended. One of the nicest on-the-road places we've stayed. No restaurant and their breakfast and dinner coupons are so limited as to be almost useless. Free coffee and popcorn when open.

We stayed here for an entire week. The room we got was very clean and comfortable; yes it had a fridge and microwave. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Though they don’t serve food here, they do give you coupons for a free drink and breakfast at a restaurant 5 minutes away. The entrance to Badlands National Park is 8 miles away. Night time was very quiet and relaxing. Rapid City is about 50 minutes away and the Blackhills is a little over an hour, in case you’re wondering.

Inside the national park, and national park managed. Cottages were new and clean and had very nice sitting areas outside. There is a basic restaurant for burgers and salads, so either bring your food with or enjoy your burger. They also sell some candy bars and wine. Location is perfect. Wake up and have the badlands to yourself
